I picked up my SRT-10 Ram yesterday. I realy like the truck, but not a big fan of the wing. I would like to be able to load things in the bed. Has anyone removed their wing?
It just unbolts. I am actually having a problem getting the right wing for my truck. It came without the tounne cover and they cannot get the factory one in that has the right wing attached to it. If you don't have the cover, then it uses a different wing, slightly wider and no center support. So right now I have a cover, but no wing...
I actually removed my toneau cover because it was in the way, but I do like the wing. Dodge triedto sell me one for $1200??? the toneau with thewing was $1000, go figure. So,if I take the wing off my toneau, it will not fit my truck ?
It shoould still fit, but the edges might not be flush. The wing for the toneau cover is slighty narrower that the wing for no cover. This is to compensate for the lines of the truck / cover. Also the wing for the cover should have a middle support that would not have anything to attach to if you go with out the cover.
Question, what color is your truck? Mine is red and it sounds like we each need the others wing. Want to swap?
