Polished Rims

My new '05 RA SRT-10 has the "polished" rims on it. Well I gave her it's first bath today and while cleaning the rims, I noticed that the polish job leaves a lot to be desired. The "face" of the rims are good for the most part, but the inner sides have a lot of dull patches. They look good at first glance, but when you check them out you can see them.

Have others noticed this? I have an appointment with the dealer to have my bed liner and toune cover installed so I was going to ask for a new set of rims, but if they are all like that, I won;t expend the energy.

Any thoughts?

Re: Polished Rims

I'll let you know what kind of feedback I get from my dealer. I just know that if I took a set of rims to a polisher and paid them $600 I would expect better than what I have. When I send out a prop for my boats, they come back completly polished like a mirror.

Re: Polished Rims

I had mine repolished here in LA for 55 a wheel and then had them clear powder coated for 200 for all 4 wheels. The wheels have no maintenance. You just wash them and they are good as new.

Re: Polished Rims

So you too saw that they were not polished very well? The clear coating, now theres an idea. My brother runs a powder coating company here in Chicago. Anything speacial they need to do for the clear coat?
