Just going to have Kevin and Proline go through the motor and freshen it up a bit. I've been beating on it for 3 seasons. It's time to pull it apart, re-hone it, maybe re-ring the pistons, new bearings, gaskets, etc. Have them check all the valve stem seals, belts, crank, etc. Probably due for a re-tune as well.
When they built the car, they used the smallest pulley for the blower. It makes around 17 psi on a factory motor. So we dropped the compression from 9.5:1 down to 9.1:1 to allow for the boost. Well, when the motor was all back together, with the big heads and cam, the motor outflowed the blower. I only get 10 psi out of that pulley. If I can't get any more boost, Kevin said that we should put the compression back in.
Nothing really earth shattering. Just going through everything and retuning. I suppose a fresh motor and some more compression might pick up a few ponies, but the point is really just to make sure everything is perfect so it runs another few years.
I have been interested in buying a LP 650 for some time now. I was wondering how powerful they are. I am looking at getting a 09 E gear Coup, but want to make sure it will get up and go. Thinking about trying to rent one for the day to see if I really like. Great looking Lambo...
