I guess it was approximately 2 months ago when I ordered my Ram Hemi Truck. I was anxiously waiting to hear about the truck arriving at the dealership. I guess about a week and a half ago the day finally arrives. So I take a ride over to check it out. Upon my arrival to the dealership I see this beautiful Black Ram Hemi in the lot, but I say to myself, that one can't be mine because it has chrome bumpers and grill etc, (I had the Sport ordered, where everything is monotone, black grill, black bumpers etc). Much nastier looking, and not so "truckie" looking. So I continue looking around the dealership, but I don't see any other black truck. hmmmm?? I walk up to the window sticker of the one Black Ram 1500 truck that was there...and guess what.... the window sticker had who it was built for, and I can't believe my eyes...it had my name on it!!! grrrrr [img]/images/graemlins/angry.gif[/img] So still not believing what I am seeing before my eyes, I go inside and find my salesman. He's smiling at me, and I am not. I tell him we have a little problem. So he says, "What's wrong Laura, the truck is beautiful...isn't it?" I respond, oh yes, the truck is very beautiful, but it is not the right truck, it is not what I ordered. Another new truck was ordered for me. So now I patiently wait again while they build me another. They did try to convince me into taking the one they had, but no way would I. Then they suggested they were going to try and "swap" out some parts from another new one to make it what I wanted. I said, "I don't think so!!!!" They even tried to see if any other dealer had one set up the way I ordered it, but couldn't find a match to all the options I had.
I really couldn't get angry, the dealer admitted that they made a mistake and simply ordered the wrong truck. I was just disappointed. Apparently what happened was the sales manager does the ordering, and the salesman is suppose to check what was ordered, and sign off on it. Well in this case that wasn't done, and the error slipped through. I know that people make mistakes, but did they really have to make it with mine [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img][img]/images/graemlins/cry.gif[/img]
Sorry to hear about your disappointment. It can be so exciting to pick up a new vehicle but when its doesn't go well it really ruins your day. I hope everything works out.

They are promising the truck to me by Feb 10th, that would make it a little over 4 weeks. The first one, you know the wrong one took about 9 weeks. We shall see, said he was "pulling some strings for me" because of the mix-up
Sorry to hear that.It's just a hard thing to go through.The high expectation leads to big dissapointment when they make a mistake.It's cool that you didn't have a caniption fit,and go off on the guy.They should give you some free floor mat's or something to smooth things over.It dosn't hurt to ask.
i hate how they say they will compensate for their mix up by "pulling some strings" b/c in all reality if they had that power, why wouldnt they do it in ther first place?? they act like your best friend when you are purchasing the vehicle, as if they would do anything. you ask them then to boost up the delievery time, and they say its out of their reach, but when they fuck up, its like, let me see what i can do. just like when you negotiate a price, they have to talk to their manager, when all they really do is get bent over in the lounge, then come back and tell you what they already knew before they walked out. its their way of manipulating, and i hate it! i know you all know this already, but it is my rant on car salesmen!! they are all crooked!

Feel free to rant, it made me feel better hehehe!! I do know exactly what you are saying. However, I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt. The Sales Manager is a very good friend of mine, and I bought my first Viper RT/10 in 1998 from the salesman. I'd like to think it was just a honest mistake, but unfortunately it involved my vehicle. Let's see if they produce it when they have now promised, but, more importantly let's see if they produce the correct truck this time!! hehehe!! They tried that, but couldn't find one that matched what I wanted. I wasn't about to "settle" either for a close second. I kind of went a little "option happy" hehehe!!
You are very patient. I commend you. Good thing you don't have the Comp Coupe ready for battle or this would be an issue. No sense in having to drive the Hemi Truck in inclinate weather. Use that GM product for that. :thumb:

I called the dealer day before yesterday to find out what was going on with my truck, because right now I am driving a rental car (and I will never say just what kind of POS I am driving) but I want OUT of it!! So I call them and say, "So you are still expecting the truck delivered by Monday, the 10th?" He says to me, "On the 10th Laura, who ever told you that?" Now I want to just about scream because HE was the one who told me the 10th!! I said, "You told me that date." He goes on to deny that he ever gave me such a date, and that maybe the truck would be built by this friday, but it would be at least 10 days after that, at the earliest, that I may see it grrrrrrrr!!!!!
