Hello everyone,
Just to let you know that I just got back from the Goodwood Festival of Speed where I drove the GTSR Chassis # 23 that I finished 2nd at Le Mans with in 1999.
It was absolutely a blast to take up the hill and the owner of the car, Florent Moulin let me hit it as fast as the rock hard Michelin tires would handle the 760 bhp as he had no restrictors on the engine! So a ton of sideways driving and wheelspin!
Florent is a pretty cool guy and truly a Viper man as he is now the owner of 6 GTSR's from Oreca!
I also took some video from my drives at Goodwood so check it out at

Great being back in a VIPER!
Best wishes,
Justin Bell
Funny you picked up on the shifter! One of the biggest issues for all of us drivers at Le Mans was getting the car into sixth..time after time...it used to hurt your shoulder and be such a slow shift. Obviously they then designed a bent over lever - but you can give me a sequential any time! as long as you remember which way to push/pull life is easy! JB
Oh, I notice those things pretty quickly now. I was in OZ a few months back and got to run a few laps with Paul Morris in one of his V8 Supercar school cars. Adjusting to the RHD was pretty easy, but I kept blowing downshifts with the dual-H shifter. I'd have been in good shape with a sequential unit. I assume you had some similar issues going to a LHD arrangement in the GTS-R?

I suppose after all this time I am good at it - the first 10 years of my career were in LHD race cars - but at Goodwood you spend half your time waving and posing to the crowd, now that is when I forget!
Those school cars look fun!
