Yeah here comes the pain...the pain of ownership. Z06s are having all kinds of problems including being bought back by GM due to toxic fumes in the interior. Good luck with ZR1 issues and crappy GM service. GM stock set a new low at $9.96 this week which is what you paid for it in 1953 except with a dollar that was worth 80% more than today's dollar. GM sucks, Ford sucks and Cerebus/Chrysler sucks. Personally, I won't be buying an American made car again. Serves them right for selling BIG trucks and SUVs to ignorant consumers for way too long.
They did not make them buy them. The consumer wanted the big SUV, so how can you fault them for supplying the public with what they wanted.
Only pain I see is someone paying initally 150k for a Corvette? On top of that ugly car with Riced up Carbon Fiber and besides its a corvette!!! Buy a Ford GT where there are more potential in making it faster for less money and headaches...Then considering it has about 1,000 times more pussy status. You won't have to buy a "Pussy Magnet Button" like off Borat....
HEY JOHN BOY HOW YOU ALL DOING IN YOUR "NECK"OF THE WOODS?...........NORTH CAROLINA........PLEASE SHARE WITH US SOME MORE PERFORMANCE AND MARKETING KNOWLEDGE........YOU HAVE GOT THE DETROIT AUTO MAKERS COVERED................GOOD NIGHT JOHN BOY FROM WALTON MOUNTAIN!
I saw Friday a FGT that put 1001 wrhp that was a stunning piece of art. A limited production car that turn heads where it goes and can run 9s at the track. A rare car that is wicked beast, easy, fun and safe to drive to me it is a no brainier.
Sorry Norm, that would be my gun in a gun fight.
Cudaman
NO WORRIES WARDO....................WHEN WOULD YOU LIKE TO SCHEDULE THE FIGHT? NORMO
alot of vette guys are saying with a pully swap it will be tons faster but tchevrolet saw the problems ford was having with the 4v cobra with pully swaps and the blower pulley. on the zr1 is machined onto the shaft so the only way to raise boost is a larger crank pully and i dont see a 12-14" crank pully not interfering with other stuff.
What problems did Ford have with the 4V Supercharged Cobra?
Are you referring to the 2003-2004 "Terminator" Cobra?
I'm guessing you mean warranty claims due to pulley swaps, but there are tons of these cars (including mine @ 532HP crank with 2.8 upper, etc) with a tune running fine for thousands and thousands of miles.
I'm a fan of the new ZR-1. Some fresh ideas, even if they are pretty subjective. Nice to see domestics not playing it safe.
I agree. Chevy/Ford/Dodge we are all domestic and it's good to see this country building products that can hang with and beat other marques when it comes to performance and price.
Without the Z06/ZR-1/FGT nobody building cars stateside will keep Dodge honest in terms of upping the performance of our car.
The corvette must be on the ragged edge too. That being said, it looks to be THE GREATEST Corvette ever.
On the one hand I like knowing that whoever built the car got the most out of it humanly possible while on the other I'd like to be able to make significantly more power without cracking into the short block of a hundred thousand dollar car.
The rumormill has it that McLaren has dealt with both the 08 viper engine and this new LS9 a lot. According to the mill they're very impressed with the Viper engine and a less than impressed with the LS9.
No matter how you slice it... its good to see some real competition these days

Competition to a certain degree is how much do you want to spend. Most people don't really push the envelope of their car, but hey! that's what magazines do...they turn everyone into an instant critic. If you do not agree, they must be wrong...
The original poster did not run those times. Take it for what it's worth...
Its an impressive car. If they could be bought for 103-118k, what a great car. But they will go for 150-300k, which will keep them out of the hands of most enthusiasts.
When do you get yours Champ?
Lutz and GM are building some incredible cars these days.
I ordered 2 of these Thursday for 2 of my excellent customers. I let these go cheap but a sale is a sale right? They sold for $35k over the MSRP of $115k and some change.
ATTENTION STORMIN NORMAS YOU OWN THE WORLDS FASTED DOORSTOPI AM SURE YOU HAVE GOTTEN YOUR VERSION OF CHEVROLET'S GREATEST SUPERCAR, THE ZR1 DID YOU GET ANOTHER BANANAHOW ARE YOU ENJOYING IT??FELLOW TUPPERWARE OWNERS WANT TO KNOW, IS THE CAR ALL THE HYPE AND MORE?HOW SOON BEFORE YOU SHOW US YOUR LINGENFELTER WORLD RECORD HAULING ASS ZR1??THANKS FOR PLAYING & UPPING THE STAKES IN THE HIGH PERFORMANCE AUTOMOTIVE WORLD!!!
Funny thing is that all of the first ZR1 dynos show the Viper making as much, if not more power than the ZR1. ZR1 has a little more area under the curve down low, but actually is quite a bit worse up top.
