What else would you expect from a grumpy old depends wearin turd. Norm does the bed wetting bother your wife or has she got used to changing the sheets every night?
All the mumbo jumbo aside, I thought you were discussing the Lingenfelter Vette in your avatar!
I lost all mojo for the Vette the first day I laid eyes on the Gen II Viper. It was that defining moment that I realized Chevy would Never capture the hearts of America like this new car called the Viper would.
The ZR-1 Vette still had to have a blower to get the numbers......OK....my 05 Comm. Edition has a blower also........with 7 lbs of boost, and is approximately the same weight as the ZR-1. With DR's 1:67 60ft, 10.39 at 138.8 mph...........I think that's a little faster than the 11 something ZR-1 and I only have a total of $70k in the car including the 3:55's, Belangers, Sidewinder wheels, Eibachs, and a lot of MGW stuff.........$110k for a Vette? NO WAY.........It does come down to what a person WANTS on a car. Why would a person want a $110k+ car that NO ONE except other vette owners will really look at? Basically, that's what it comes down to.......another vette with a "window" in the hood......a Ferrai wantabe........might be faster than a Ferrari, but it AIN'T NO Ferrari, and for certain......IT AIN'T NO VIPER!!!

Some people like warranties, besides you had to extensivly modify your Viper just to keep up with a stock Vette, and a blower no less. Besides a simple pulley upgrade on the ZR1 and look out.
Like it or not this car deserves respect, to think otherwise shows who the real nutswingers are....
But I do agree it's ONLY a Vette, just like it's ONLY a Viper.
I dont like the fact that the Corvette is getting so expensive, they used to be known for their "best bang for the buck" persona.
That being said,
A pulley swap on a boosted LS9 and this car will go into the 10's.
Yeah, but for how many runs? When they were bumping up the performance of the 2006s, the motors weren't holding up. Even Dodge says that the 2008 are at max performance. The engineers put it like:
Quote:
The 2008 engine is a highly tuned and highly stressed engine. We left few stones unturned in the development or calibration process. Achieving 600 HP required that many of the parts be stressed to their limits and the pistons are one of the most highly stressed components in the engine. If the customer modifies the engine to increase the output by any significant amount (more than just say headers, i.e. supercharger, turbo, NOS), a quality forged piston would be a good idea. We don’t currently offer a replacement piston but many of the aftermarket suppliers could probably offer a good replacement part. Follow their recommendations for fit. Also be careful to make any adjustments for balance if the weight is much different than the stock piston. Don't forget to use a good engine builder and make sure the calibration matches the modifications!
The corvette must be on the ragged edge too. That being said, it looks to be THE GREATEST Corvette ever.

Is he going to put it on the Jennny Craig diet? Because no matter the power 4140lbs isn't going to cut it.
The new Caddy CTS-V will have 556 hp and 551 lb-ft. of torque and the six-speed manual is capable of reaching 191 mph.
So the Catty could almost run down the Vette and still have $40, 000. left in the bank, or if you used the $40,000 for mods I am sure I could out run the Vette.
THAT WOULD BRING THE PAIN IN THE ASS FOR THE NEW VETTE OWNER
