[quote=Shotgun Willie;1007568]A.R.T. had a dyno weekend for diesel trucks this past weekend. They dyno'd close to 70 trucks and this one blew it's turbo through the stack; parts of the turbo are still embedded in their ceiling. All the guys were still coated in diesel soot as of today.
How about the pro stock tractors in the pulling world. Those fuckers are running 255psi of boost and somtimes three turbo chargers. Ohh and about three or four thousand pounds of torque.

I used to work for a company called Precision Laser Mfg. That is where I worked on projects for the DOD, DOE, Lockheed, etc. (Precision Laser Manufacturing)
I now design buildings, test cells, labs, etc. for Caterpillar at their technical center. (www.cat.com)
Are there any dyno numbers from the trucks that were there and survived?

Iiiinteresting. I'm a lurker, but the EE degree in power brings me out for this one. Does it run on HFO? Have the economics of petroleum based power generation driven the prices of piston barges down to scrap levels, or do you have a living plan for it?
I don't know....look what happend in the tractor pull video. I think the top one would turn you to swiss cheese. The chances of the bottom one doing anything to you would be pretty minimal. I am trying to think of a way the bottom one could hurt you if something went wrong, and I cannot.
Yes, because comparing Chernobyl, who's RBMK graphite moderated design was announced fundamentally unstable by Hans Beth before it was ever built, is an apt comparison to the AP1000.
Fun fact: Every year, as many people die from cancer due to the world's coal powered plants as ever died from Chernobyl.

just remember.. if something can go wrong, it will... just a matter of time. and how bad it goes wrong.
