i had a pic of a maroon M1 on my wall as a kid. it is one of the sexiest cars ever built. to come across one in the US is a rare find. I would like to add some unusual, rare birds to the garage....a renault r5 fits the bill too
If I remember correctly, Lambo did a metric shit ton of work in the M1s development, and BMW had to basically break into the Lambo headquarters and steal all the info when Lambo went into receivership back in the 70's. And then came the oil crisis. That car really was doomed from the start.
I would have loved this car as a kid growing up, but since I have never seen it when I was a kid, I can not find any beauty in it now. It screams 70's, from the louvers to the interior. If I saw it driving down the street, the first thing I would think is "Kit Car", but hey, if it floats your boat. Does it perform?

I sure do...I had one up until about 5 years ago. A built 351 made it scream. Shops are all loaded, as we've had a light snow just about every week, mixed with a bit of ice and sleet for good measure. Funny...the busiest shops are in North Carolina...not in the northeast. "Twill be a good year for sure!! Hope you're well.
My former neighbor had a "racecar" version of the M1. I remember the car like it was a god (hey, I was like 10 at the time). It sounded like satan getting raped. I never did get a ride, or even see it drive other than onto a trailer. Buy the thing.
