2001 Custom CBR F4i with new pirelli diablo tires and a recent tune. It has been tuned, geared, and lowered. New race fairings with no drops, carbon fiber mirrors, shaved tail with under tail lights and signals, light for race and fast. This is a very well balanced bike. One of a kind ex Budweiser Racing bike. You will never see another one cruzing around that looks like this. Only 16k miles on this but it runs like new. Fires up on the first time every time even when its cold. Ready to ride and street legal (barely) but thats whats so unique about this bike.
I looked at it on saturday and the bike rode awesome, you can tell it was a race bike. It was super light and handled amazingly. The bike was SLAMMED and looked so cool without the headlights, etc that the street version has. I have a deal worked out where he is getting the title made up from the state and if he does that and it truley passes off as a street bike and he gets it registered and titled, then Id get it from him from $3,500
It's NOT a race bike.. it's a street bike that's been wrecked and re-built with aftermarket fairings. Even if it was a track bike, it would have to come with a lot of spares to be worth the $'s you mentioned. Stay away from this one, it even looks like a wanna be race bike.

Ill never ride again, so of course my answer is no, its not worth it, even for $1.
I have met too many paraplegics and they are almost all results of some sort of bike crash. Ive driven by at least 3 accidents involving bikes where someone was covered in a sheet. I remember watching my buddy, a grown ass man, literally crying during his physical therapy after his bike accident resulting in his foot shaved in half courtesy the asphalt.
Or the time I watched another guy I know gag and spray and wipe his new solid red blood paint job off of his bike from some guys accident in front of and ahead of him...
Do I love riding? Too much. I think about it all the time. Its a fucking blast.
To each his own, my priorities are my family. Sorry to be a Debbie-Downer to everyone here who still rides. You asked and those were my
I appreciate it! I dont like to ride at night, in traffic or do anything stupid. Id race it at bandimere and take it out on weekends to go cruise up in the mountains just to get away. But I dont push the limits by any means for anything to happen being my fault. I know with bikes its the other people who dont see you but thats my thoughts on riding. I dunno, the bike seems like a really good deal and its rare and kinda cool!
Im a little confused. What kind of racing did that thing do. You would never slam a bike for road course racing. That thing would handle like shit. Bikes aren't anything like cars as it applies to lowering it. They need travel. If its a drag bike it would be a weak one. F4i's were never meant for racing. They were designed as a cross between a sport bike and a sport touring bike. I used to have one. That is a "street one" it just has racing plastics on it and a few stickers. Those tires suck too. In that poor thing's current condition I would not give you anything for it. It would cost more to repair than its worth. Have you ever ridden a sport bike before? If not, you should go to a dealer and drive one with some suspension. You wont think that that thing handles good anymore. Seriously run like hell! That guy is giving you a story, dont buy it. $3500 doesnt seem like much for a modified race bike but its an insane amount for that bike. From what I can see in the pics and the story you told, I would put down money that that thing is stolen. I say this because the brakes are stock and so are the forks and rear shock. Those item SUCK on th F4i. Any race bike would have had them changed. Its looks like the exhaust is stock too but its not clear in the pics. If you decide to pursue this purchase look all over the bike for serial numbers and VIN numbers and make sure they match. Check the frame and the engine. Take those numbers to the DMV or police and make sure its not stolen. Good luck but be careful. Even if its not I wouldn't buy it.
Check for a salvage title and buy it if you like it. the bike has been crashed , but if it is straight and the frame is not cracked , don't worry about it. Look on e-bay and see what perfect ones are going for. And don't listen to Misdirected , he is Misdirected , I was riding today and had a blast................

My thoughts exactly, I had always wanted a bike even back when I was just getting my license. Some of my friends had them and everyone as in EVERYONE of them had some sort of accident/layed it down etc. Good friend of mine almost died on one. One of my students recently layed his r1 down and has been on crutches and will be for several months. Decided that its just not worth it to me.

Id just rather see you save it and put the $ into another car... Or buy something cool for the STI... And its not always other people to watch for, and even when youre watching, sometimes it doesnt matter. Everyone who gets hurt didnt see it coming or else they wouldnt be hurt.
That bike looks like a cobbled together piece of shit. After he wrecked it, it was cheaper to put aftermarket fairings with no headlights or housings on it. Not sure what's "cool" about that.

AHHH, Street Legal? I don't know about your state but Texas requires a headlight to get inspected. The headlight also helps to be seen during the day as well....... There are just to many bikes out there that are garage queens and you just need to look for one of those IMO.

It actually has a projector light behind the windshield....but it's still a rat..IMO that is.
F4i FTL, and that one especiall looks like a redneck bike. If your npt going to push it to its limits and want to just go on mountain cruises, why buy a "racing" bike?
I think for what you want a GSX-R 600, CBR RR 600, or R6 would all be better than this bike and aound the same price.
i would get the CBR600RR if you're just wanting a Honda bike. but the F4i isn't worth it, go ride the 600RR and see which one feels better to you, i'm willing to bet the 600RR is better.
