Props to DC for keeping the spirit of it all alive in the recent years with big displacement. I actually prefer GM for the most part as far as the original muscle cars, but its a shame they didnt even attempt to set the par anymore after 1996. Best attempts being the CTS-V and the joke GTO, but they dont bring that brute feeling back, if you catch my drift. Once again props to DC for having brought it all back in recent years and today.
Love the styling, but a 4100lb+ pig and only available in a automatic...no thanks.
Sure, auto takes a little driving fun out of it, but its nothing a 3600 stall cant fix. Back in the day they had automatic available as well; Plus, dont you remember some of those 7 sec auto viper passes?

Yes, a stall can help (use to have a 600rwhp+ stalled auto myself). And yes, auto's were availble back in the day, but it wasn't the only option like it is now. Also, I was hoping for better performance, not just equal to performance that was available nearly 40 years ago....A 13 second 1/4 mile car is far from a race-built 7 sec. car you are making reference to.

4,140 lb. base weight...fuck that. Granted, if it's like the other SRT cars, it should dip into the 12's, but at a base MSRP of $38k, it's going up against the upcoming Camaro and GT500. Albeit, GT500's can't be had for less than mid-$40's at this point, especially with ADM's. But the GT500 is over 300 lbs. lighter, puts out 80 more hp and more torque.
I'm curious to see what the new Camaro is going to weigh. My bet is it's going to tip the scales at ~3800 lbs.

Okay, Goddamnit... My reference to 7 second cars was a mere reminder of some of the fastest street cars being automatic...
The limited colors, auto only, 6.1L SRT only, etc. are just for now. They got out the standard SRT 8 which is basically all existing Charger stuff so they could get a jump on the market and the Camaro. Powertrain options such as 6 speed, 3.5L V6, 5.7L, and hopefully with any luck the 6.4L that was in the "Super Stock" concept will all see production soon along with more colors and variants. I am a
