I back up Audi's drivetrain reputation based on how well I see them perform at the track. I don't own an Audi nor am I an Audi loyalist. Right now my loyalties lie with my Viper.

Kramer, agreed on the your statement of overstressing the drivetrain under SERIOUS boost as well as your statement of the R8 not looking great. I don't know about a TT Gallardo, I have seen what they can do, but I'd rather turbo my 06 coupe as it would be cheaper and rediculously faster than a Gallardo, N/A or Turbo (as long as the Viper is wearing the right shoes)

You claim loyalty to the Viper, yet you are also quoted as saying this awd, heavy, 490 crank hp car will "rip" a new ACR... I dont see a serious threat if any from this concept that will unlikely ever even encounter a new ACR...

ba humbug - TT diesels are the perfect engine for a performance SUV. In a sports car I hardly think we'll see an exodus from Viper owners rushing off to buy an oil burner.

Now 24mpg overall would be quite good, but it would have to produce near 50mpg at 60mph cruising to be impressive on the economy stakes. A TT Viper can easily be built to achieve 30mpg at cruise, and makes twice the power.

So TT Vipers rule

I think this concept if produced will be capable of competing if not beating, ACR's, ZR1's, and Skylines. Maybe it can't beat them all down the 1/4 mile stock, but I bet it will out handle all of them on the track. Just try to imagine all that torque available at such a low rpm (730 ft-lb@ 1700 rpm). This car has a better torque curve than all the others. It should be able to slingshot around the turns at higher speeds than the others and leave those turns quicker as well. Modifying any of the cars mentioned will yield incredible results, however, I think this concept has the best platform to draw more power out of dollar for dollar.

Torquemonster, yes TT Viper>everything else all day, couldn't agree more.

Im finished with this thread and talking about this car. Its gay, hideous, unimportant, and a fucking CONCEPT! The Gallardo V10 version will be interesting to see, but I still dont give a fuck and neither does anyone else. Go entertain your high school parking lot ricer-club themed supercar talk somewhere else.

I'm glad you can freely express your dismay of the concept. I don't think you can speak on behalf of everyone else "I still don't give a fuck and neither does anyone else". I'm sure a lot of people on this forum are curious about the car and it's potential. I have no high school parking lot ricer club, but if I did, I'd extend you an invitation so you can feel at home in it. No rice for me, I'm a V8 or better man myself and am sitting in a V10 for now.

I want to hear how the exhaust will sound. It would be weird seeing exotic sports car sounding like a truck.

Just listen to the stock exhaust of an SRT-10 Viper if you want to hear an exotic sports car sounding like a truck. On a side note, they say this Audi concept is quiet as speed increases, you can probably only hear the spool of the turbo's as you accelerate.
