68 Camaro DRAG CAR needs home VERY FAST

My buddy has owned this car for the last 10 years, it is a DRAG ONLY car. His back is bad and he is retiring early. He owns a local shop here and is a MAster ASE mechanic and car has been well maintained. Here are the quick specs, if interested, PM or call me.

68 Camaro
All fiberglass, roof and quarters are metal
2400 lbs
Full roll cage, certified till sportsman 8.50 or 8.30 second
Parachute but needs replaced as it is at the end of the life expectancy
540 motor, Marlin II block, Eagle crank, Eagle rods, ARP studs and bolts
CJ pistons, 13:1 compression, full dome
Heads cam fuel large, ported (South Jersey cyl heads, Timmys, racing engines”
Roller cam .850 lift
Dyno: 820 HP
Dart intake
Lemon headers
Custom built carb by Timmy’s Racing Engines
No runs on engine, as engine is FRESH!
TH400, 5000 stall speed all worked up
Paxton fuel system with brain
Wheelie bars
Dana 60, 4.56 full spool,
Strange axels
Strange 4 wheel disks
Rack and Pinion Steering (Mustang II?)
Strange Spindles
Full box frame
Lexan shield, and all lexan glass, Lexan could be polished up a bit
Double delay box (computer launches car at full speed, even does brakes)
Fastest ever ran is a 9.96 on paper with 461, which is old (approx) 570 HP 454 .030 motor, should go high 8’s or low low 9 at a MINIMUM on this engine/combo, or maybe even mid to high 8's tuned in.
He just paid $12,500 for motor alone (BRAND NEW) and $2,000 to have the new cage installed as old one was not good under 10’s, this one is good until 8.3 or 8.5 seconds I am told. Car drives straight and no BS issues!
Needs:
Only new slicks to run, as this car has not been run in 2 years, and slicks are too dry to safely run I suspect.

This is a TURN KEY race car, all painted in a blue and yellow paint scheme. Price is $17,000 OBO, please contact me personally if interested either with a PM or by calling my office 856-486-1297 from noon till 7 PM EST. I might even buy this to resell it as I think this is a GREAT price for such goodies! 

Now that the prices of virtually everything are going up and up and now that thousands of people are losing their jobs everyday as the US goverment still hands out 10,000+ checks to those people just getting off the boat, I think I will take a boat ride and get in line, I sure could use the money to pay for the gas in my Viper and GTO!

My home isn't very fast... In fact, it's downright slow. The driver did say it hit 72 on it's way to my site, but it hasn't moved since. They took the wheels.

Pics

Car was NOT cleaned and pics were taken today and not retouched or the like, todya is 3-12-08. Pics show the worsts parts of the car, so it is all disclosed. Otch front fiberglass fenders have some small cracks in them. Getting action on car, so make a reasonable offer and you might own it. The one front caliper is seeping fuid and that will be done before it is picked up (or delivered) and the fuel pump line inside the car to the fuel guage will need a different line as it doesn't need NHRA spec, but part was purchased and not isntalled and that can be done too for free before car is picked up/delivered.

The last pic is the worst part of the car, where the front fender on driver's side meets the door. This is a RACE CAR, but anyhow this is literally the worst part of the car in my opinion. The other pic shows the fiverglass crack on the fender and anyhow cosmetic only, nbut worth mentioning as I want full disclosure on the car. FRESH ENGINE and a LOT of high end goodies! Anyhow, owner must sell and anyhow I am taking it over for him, he is ill and a friend of mine for 15+ years and he owned it for a decade+. Gary 856-486-1297

Gary, I think I have seen this car before. Is it kept at a gas station outdoors mostly in Cherry hill?

BOTTOM LINE is $14,100 AS-IS or $14,500 with fuel guage line inside car done to meet NHRA spec and brake caliper rebuilt. THIS IS A STEAL FRANKLY AND AGAINST MY ADVICE, but he wants it gone as he sold the business and new garage owner of his business wants the car gone too. Pick up has to be done within 2 weeks and motor will start right up, so no BS. PRICE WAS JUST APPROVED AN HOUR AGO-NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE FOR $1,000 IF ANYONE WANTS IT BY CASHIER'S CHECK, PAYPAL IF ESTABLISHED ALLEY MEMBER, OR PERSONAL CHECK IF ESTABLISHED ALLEY MEMBER. Balance is due in cash only-read-cash only, read again if you are from the South-cash only. HA I know the car and I also know the guy selling it, so this isn't some yahoo I just met from Nigeria-lol. Gary

I have passed that car MANY times over the years and seen it sitting on the corner at that station thinking it would be a nasty little toy. Good luck with it. BTW, it is about 3 miles from my office.

Lexan windshield is new, sides and back Lexan can be polished out okay but apparently are not as bad as I thought. Rack and Pinion bushings are $12 and should be replaced within a year. other than thatm, it is all good but giving 110% disclosure to all buyers.

You should raise the price back up and put it on For Sale: race & performance cars, engines, engine parts, trailers

Lots and lots of buyers.

FYI this guy just reduced the price of the car again, $12,500 takes it! I think he is getting a divorce, but I know he is in some serious financial crap at the moment.... I just saw the car ast week, body is a little rough, but anyhow I am NOT into getting a non street car myself, but this is truly a STEAL!
