I'm with you on the wheel size. 18'' is about as far as I would want to go. The brakse are insane light though. I would be surprised if the discs were much more than 5 lbs. The rotors I run on my race car are around 20 lbs. I would be interested in seeing a comparison with the ACR bits.
On a side note, have you been to Putnam Park?
Indeed I was to Putnam park. I got a ride around in an SRT with 585 HP and stock brake rotors/ calipers with upgraded pads at Viper Days. We had Hoosier slicks on and I was riding with a pretty darn good driver (Jim Zachacz).
I think the Stoptechs are like 9 pounds lighter than the stock rotors IIRC. Apparently the new wheels and tires reduce unsprung weight by 60 total pounds.

Putnam is a great track. I love running there. 9 lbs is a hell of a difference.
I absolutely loved it. I talked to some of the instructors and they all said it was a marvelous little track with lots of technicalities. I guess it was designed to be an instructional track.
Don't get me wrong, I think the ZR1 is gonna be crazy fast, but I was expecting it to be a large step above any stock Viper, and I really don't think they are that far apart (Zr1 and ACR). I honestly think they are gonna be very close. The difference is, for once, the Viper is cheaper (and still looks better).

It's a track with alot of room and runoff except 11 of course. It's a great technical course. Going flat through 4 is a blast.
Right now I think I'm going to reserve judgement on any comparisons. I really want to see some hard data on the ZR1. Cornering g's,braking, weight specs stuff like that. I wish they would put R compunds on it stock but I think that's a little out of the question. We've got alot of info on it already but I think the most important stuff is still to come.

Another thing is that the ZR1 is going to be a mid 09' realease. That gives dodge alot of heads up to pull something out. Alot of things can change in 14-18 months on both sides of the battle.
Yours is heavy, old looking and slow. Mine is state of the art modified and gorgeous. No matter where I take it, somebody wants to buy it. Yours is a dime a dozen and doesn't conjure up the emotion that mine does. Take your cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds and shove them up your ass, gaybird. You lose, I win. This is the way of nature and the will of god. Abide by it, nerd.
Post some pics of this million dollar Vette already!!!
Someone on here once said, there are Vette guys, Viper guys, and then there are car guys...... I love my Vipers and would take the 08 ACR over it anyday of the week but that ZR1 does looks pretty mean I must admit! And as it has already been mentioned, competition drives the market forward, its crazy to think that you can get these 600HP street cars off the showroom floor!
