Call it old school, but I still love my 1982 911SC, call it the classic lines.........I've always had a weak spot for a whale tail.........and 185 dyno'd h.p in a 2300 pound lowered and corner balanced machine that carves up corners is sweet. You gotta love a screaming horizontal 6 cylinder air cooled motor shifting at 6000-6500 rpms. It's got cams, and full stainless headers and free flowing muffler.........plus mere mortals can afford one. You can pick these up for $15K, which is cheap classy fun. And for a 25 year old car it makes for a great weekend driver and track car too.

Here's mine 2003 996 turbo EVOMS 850 (715awhp)Has run 10.50@141 in AZ heat.I also have a 2001 ACR and C6Z06.They are great cars and kind of in the toddler stage as far as big power goes and the tuners are making progress in getting more power out of them but they are very expensive to mod.My advice .....buy one with the mods you want already done.......there are a bunch of GT 700's(top level bolt on kit) that can be bought for mid 70's.Keep in mind though a basic motor build is 15k on these cars so be sure to get one that is running well and thoroughly inspected.They are pretty bulletproof up to this level ......it is after the 700hp crank level that they require strengthening the bottom end and driveline.If you have any other ?'s you can PM me if you like .Good luck!

Sorry for chiming in so late (remodeling my house last few weeks) but I wanna give my 2 cents....

My 01 996TT is modded to ONLY 600hp and I love it in every way! Compared to the ViperTT I had it was a better DD - the Viper would easily beat my Porsche but I still love how the Porsche handled! The way its set up now it runs to 100mph in 7.9sec and will embarrass a stock viper. Looks wise - it gets a lot of attention even though its 6 years old! But then again it doenst look like a stocker. I have virtually no issues with the car even after its been modded! I recommend this car highly! Good luck! Any questions feel free!
