Do not take your Saleen to the dealer if you do not have to. We allowed the Ford dealer one attempt to make the car right and within a couple of weeks of getting it back the paint was pealing off. We then had them pay for the shop of our choice and Saleen took about 6 weeks to get the paint shop the parts. All together the car was down from November to April off and on. We had it maybe 3 weeks during that time. As soon as we get it back from the second shop the A/C compressor locked up. We went back to the dealer and they gave us enough of our money back it was worth it to buy the white speedster.

Kinda funny part is when we took delivery of the white one there is a rock chip in the hood. The dealer offered to fix it for us (same people that the paint pealed off the other car) and I told them f**k no I don't even want your guys to wash it...

That is definitely the mindset of the dealers i've had experience with...not real sharp.

Yea. I actually like my cobra alot more than the Saleen.

My buddy has a '99 Cobra with a few mods. I finally got to play tag with him on a little back road running against my '99 GTS, also with a few mods. I was pretty impressed. If nothing else, the thing sounds awesome. He has lowered it and changed the tires, so it went around some of the 90 degree corners as quickly as I did. Overall...very nice car.

Your a nice guy. I have an 04 and it does pretty well. 700 RWHP on pump gas. But I know that a 99 cobra (or any cobra) would need quite a few mods to hang with a 99 GTS in the twisties. Lowering, correcting bumpsteer, adding coil-overs and good tires do make a huge difference though.

I'm not really up on the mustangs, so when he tells me the mods, he may as well be speaking french. I do remember something about the exhaust being a factory mustang race set up. He worked in a shop that modded them in Va. Beach, so I know he knows what he's talking about. He thought he knew your car too. He lives in Norfolk. I think he said his dynoed somewhere just under 400, so with mine being 440 at the wheels, and not having owned it but 10 months, his driving skills and track time make up for my 75 or so HP and no track experience. All told. it was fun running. I would catch him on anything straight, and he would pull away some going into the curves.
