YEESH! They should look at giving it back to the Germans! That guy is a complete asshole!
People used to be friendly and happy at Home Depot until that idiot took over!
I go to Home Depot for things regularly and can't find any help for four or more isles at a time. It's to the point where by proxy I find more things than there are people available to assist me.
Yes I am reaaaaallly displeased. Same guy that took $210 million from Home Depot in a few years, only to drive them into the dumpster. Shareholders had to form a lynch mob basically and payed him millions just to get rid of him.
He already has "declined to comment" on his compensation here at Chrysler, and "hopes it (his bloated mega millions package) won't become an issue during labor talks...
Believe it our not HD just got rid of the "executive elevator" that he installed because he couldn't hang with the commoners at the Managerial level. That guy is an egotistical asshole and I am in agreement with you guys, how the hell did Chrysler figure he would be a good choice??

Actually, the money paid out to Nardelli was much more.
Nardelli was paid $124 million in compensation during his seven-year stint at Home Depot (not counting long-term equity awards, which were believed to worth another $30 million approximately), and then got another $210 million in severance when he left in January 2007.
So, the total earnings for seven years in which Home Depot lost 8% of it's stock price and and its main competitor, Lowes, doubled its stock price?
Around $364 million for Bob Nardelli, all in.

or... they want an asshole to route out the union workers and go-slow and in-efficient workforce and make it lean and mean...
then maybe they'll replace him with a visionary
to survive Chrysler will need to lead the way in the US out of the union dominated culture to hopefully a "Toyota model" that blends both worker satisfaction and efficiency and quality in a way no US maker has got remotely even close to yet... to make the US car maker able to compete on the world market - will require a lot of pain, but it could be worth it if balanced with great vision
I agree with TM... they need someone not afraid to be that guy to the unions and basically try to thin the place out and cut the overhead that could operate a small country.
My guess is he will be in and out in 24-36 months and replaced with someone that has world market directive and connections.

If not that, then we're fucked.
I hope TM and Rogue are onto something. I do agree that it is the Unions that are hurting the American car companies more than the crazy Goverment regulations.
And now a word from the boys in the band to the Auto Unions.
Cerberus Capital Management LP’s executive vice president Frank Klegon said the company is quickly giving the go-ahead to nine Chrysler projects. Klegon said to expect the new owners of Chrysler LLC to move fast, noting that Cerberus gave the go-ahead within 36 hours of agreeing to buy the automaker.
Speaking at an auto conference in Traverse City, Michigan, Klegon said that as a private company, Cerberus will be make decisions more quickly, “and thus move faster to respond to the market,” Klegon said.
He said about $3 billion was approved for new engine and drivetrain plants where the plan is to build more efficient fuel economy.
Chrysler has started building three engine plants for new V6 engines that the company says will provide a 6-to-8 percent gain in fuel efficiency. The engine is designed with Chrysler’s multi-displacement system. Similar to Honda’s and GM’s, the engine runs on three cylinders when less power is needed and all six when more power is required.
Klegon also said a new dual clutch transmission developed with Getrag will be ready for 2010 model-year vehicles.
What does he know about building cars? He sounds like an ax man brought in to cut costs. The article said . "Nardelli will receive no compensation whatsoever until Chrysler starts making money." Is that good or bad ???
