It was a beautiful 75 degrees on Saturday in New York City. How on earth could there not be a cruise on a mid 70 degree day in January? It was a little wet in the morning, which kept the guys with "Acute Mangina" at home, but the sun was out and within 1 hour of the start of the drive, the roads were nice and dry.
On this day, I learned why traction control is actually a good thing. I was riding along in a new C6 Z. Roads were still a bit wet at the time. The car was in "Competitive Driving Mode" - In english, this mode will allow the tires to spin a bit, but won't let you completely lose the car. As we are cruising along on local roads, we approach a hill. We continue cruising along, and all of a sudden, the rear end fishtails. At this point, the TC kicks in and gets the car going straight again. After 20 seconds of nonstop laughter between the driver and myself, we realized that without the TC, we would have quickly been introduced to the ditch that was on the right hand side of the road.
On this day, I also learned that a C6 Z really hauls ass in a straight line. I have a whole new respect for the Z06. Enough talking.......here are the pics.
