My father is looking at a Chrysler Imperial in Palm Springs and would like to get an appraisal of the car. Is there any member on this site that would be interested in taking a look at this car for us?
What year imperial? I have a few and love them, a 59 and 62 convertible.
You gotta be kiddin' me.
We (My father and I) own a White '59, and my younger brother owns a factory bright blue '61. In my opine the 1959 was the Greatest Imperial ever. EVER!
1fast400,
Maybe you can help us in a different way. My father and I are on a parts search also for our 1959 Imperial.
Can you help us find a (new or spare in VGC) Check Valve that sits on the air resevoir on the driver's side fender under the hood? The one we have looks like ass and was not the original hardware. Its a plastic POS, that merges all three hoses together in a ugly yet functional way that really shows that it doesn't belong.
I have a complete parts car I bought, it's a 4 door, but I won't get it for 3 more weeks. The guy told me he was going out of town for new years, failed to tell me that was for over a month. I'll check mine and see if I can pull it off. I'm yanking the motor and will likely put a SRT 6.1 in it. We're doing that with my dad's 62 lebaron imperial. My uncle has a 63 imperial.
I really like some of the mid 60's imperials. I'm going to move some of my other old mopars and get some more imperials. I have an oddball collection of cars.

We'd be very interested in buying parts off of your 1959 Imperial. It would help us complete the engine compartment.
Just a thought, will you be reupolstering or removing any parts from of the interior/exterior? The present day plan is to keep the car stock until the motor goes. Once that happens, we will be planning to put in an aftermarket crate block under the hood like yourselves.
Ours is a White 4 door Chrysler Imperial Crown with a beautiful Red interior and working AC. It gets the looks especially with the factory built swing out seats!
Additionally, the Imperial we're looking at is a blue convertible.
I bought a driver that needs a new interior. I have a white 2 door with blue carpet and green interior. It has truck AC. The dash pad has to be redone, headliner, carpet and I'll redo the seats while I'm at it. This is really a cosmetic type resto. I have decided what type of motor I'm going to put in it. I'm going to see how my dad SRT transplant goes. If it goes we'll, I'll do the same. I'll do everything but paint the car. The trim is excellent. I tend to drive my cars, I don't do show cars. Once I get the parts car I'll shoot pictures so you can see what I have/don't have. Right now I need to lcoate two more interior pieces. This car has NO rust on it, but the interior looks terrible. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Well the car was purched this week by a gentleman from ... Sweden.
Now before you say WTF? Sweden?? They apparently have quite an active group of Imperial owners over there. However, what DOES suck is the fact that there will be no second chance sales on the car stateside if the car were to be sold again.
1fast,
Check out this site. If you're not aware of it, I hope I can help you in some kind of way via this recommendation.
