All that I have heard is that the 350Z likes to puke it's guts out when modded.
The 350z can run 450-500rwhp on a stock engine all day long. There have been one or two bad apples that didnt like it tho. Otherwise, crummy tuning will blow up anything. At any rate, there are guys going mid 11's on drag radials running mid 400rwhp with drag radials. No where close to 9's!!!
Not comparable to the GT500 if you ask me. Stock for stock, the GT500 will demolish a 350z. The 350z has enormous performance potential but it doesnt come cheap. Yea it can handle, stop, and accelerate like a 150,000 exotic. But it will cost 25,000 on top of the car to get it there, because all the stock equipment is really pathetic. Looks like this GT500 is going 9's with maybe 5-6 grand into it. Not sure if it could ever handle without stripping it to a road race car? I dont know anything about mustangs.

So you're saying the 350Z can have exotic like performance as long as you change everything about the car?
Sounds like enormous potential to me. Thanks for the info.

i think any mod that takes less than 2 hours to install can be considered a bolt-on. i met one guy at the track running his 03 cobra with the new compucar nitrous " bottle in a bag" setup this past weekend. really neat idea. completely comtained in a duffle bag was a 10lb bottle heatedblanket and wiring simply plugs into the cigarette lighter for power. install a nozzle in your intake and bam your done. 75 shot dry setup. if thats not a "bolt-on" what is!

Precisely. The chassis a good design, it just came with terrible tires, springs/shocks, sways, and somewhere along the lines the turbos were misplaced.
If they throw a blower on the Viper next year it would be nice to just change the pulley size, tune it add a few bolt ons to have some pretty substantial gains.
