My wifes Scion xB got stolen here in Chicago yesterday in front of our townhome. First, who in the hell would steal a Scion xB? Car was locked, no glass where the vehicle was so they didnt smash the window. If I was going to risk going to jail, it wouldnt be for a $15k city-beater Scion.
Anyways, any advice from those of you who have dealt with this before? Any advice on how to deal with the insurance company and the police?
RE: upgrade, no need to upgrade. We got the Scion for several reasons, mainly we wanted a small car that would be easy for the wife to drive in the city and one that we wouldnt be upset when it got the shit beat out of it in Chicago. I didnt want to spend $40k to have a car get dented, dinged and now stolen. The $15k xB is awesome as a city commuter, irregardless of its box-on-wheels look.
If any of you live in a big city, I would recommend the xB hands down. You can parallel park it anywhere, it has good storage in the back (I fit a set of Viper tire/wheels in the back, plus some other stuff) and its cheap as hell.
