Think of your rides thus far? I am within a gnat's ass of pulling the trigger on an SRT-8 300C and am curious if there is anything good, bad, or ugly I should know about beforehand. More curious about the Magnum, Charger, & 300C versions, but even feedback on the Jeep SRT-8 would be cool. Thanks!
I have heard that there are alot of rattles that shake loose with the 300C after a few months/year. Not sure if the SRT is any better in this dept, but I doubt it. This is second hand info though, take it for what it is worth. Guess there are a few TSB's for the brakes as well.
Last time I was at the track there were 2 SRT-8s that were ripping through the crowd. They were pretty good drivers, but I was very impressed at the ability of a heavy as shit car to take a race track with a lot of turns.
I currently have a charger srt and just bought a jeep srt. The charger is great, handles and rides smooth, looks badass and has most of the creature comforts as the 300. The interior is a little more generic, but I have found it to be rather comfortable. The charger is smooth as silk at 100mph with plenty of room to go.
The jeep, well, its a jeep. The interior has more plastic than any american auto on the road. The stereo sounds like a boombox from the 70's . At highway speeds it is TWITCHY and wanders everywhere. Tons of torquesteer doesnt instill confidence. It looks pretty Badass and I bought it for its AWD.
Despite my bitching about the Jeep, I think its a blast.
I've got a 300 SRT8 and a Jeep SRT8. Both are a blast. Jeep rockets from a start like almost nothing else. Incredible. Great daily drivers that blow every other daily driver away. Love em

Have u raced the Jeep vs. the 300SRT8? According to the stats it would seem that the Jeep would be quicker to the 1/4 mile then aerodynamics become a deficit and the 300SRT pulls.
I'm going to reespectfully disagree with Nate on this one. After 15k worth of miles on the 300C, the car is smooth as silk and a pleasure to drive. It gets the looks and is a conversation piece. Ours is the color, Vanilla Pearl.
Excellent feedback and feel free to add more. I am fairly sure I am going to take the plunge on a loaded black 300C SRT-8 if I can convince the bride without too much bloodshed. We did the SRT Track Experience a week ago and it was awesome. The car (truck) that really blew our minds was the Jeep of course. AWD and 425 HP make for one hell of a launch - I damn near had to pull my retinas off the back of the seat. As we already have a Denali another SUV probably isn't the way to go. Figure the 300C version would be more impressive for clients, etc. We shall see!
Thanks again for the feedback and please don't hesitate to throw in more if you have it.
My wife and I test drove the Jeep SRT-8 earlier in the week and my conclusions are the same as zengarage. The Jeep felt very front end light, especially under heavy throttle. I was expecting the steering to feel more firm and not as floaty as it felt.
I still wish that they didn't put the exhaust in the center! If I were to give up my SUV and trade for the Jeep what would I tow my toys with? They should have done a dual exhaust out the rear side! Other then that it's pretty damn cool!
I took the plunge and bought a new loaded 300C SRT-8 yesterday morning in Houston (TX). Drove it +/- 800 miles home and then brought it to the SRT Nationals in Topeka today:
1000 miles as of this writing and it is an AWESOME vehicle in every single respect. Especially love that Kicker sound system!
Chris, do you have some more pics? Did you buy that car at the dealership off Kirby and I59? Can you PM me the price you paid? I'm VERY seriously interested in one and might be picking one up soon.
Peter
as a side note, i ran the jeep at the track last week, mopar cai and zoomers cat back. 12 runs, every single one 13.55. I even let two other guys run, 13.55-13.60, one run even had a cute lil passenger. the jeep is pretty quick.
they qualify for employee pricing so you should be able to get a great deal no matter what dealership you go to, they have to sell it for employee price

Yeah, but nothing says that employee pricing is always the lowest price. I was car shopping during the last employee pricing charade and no one would move from the "employee" price. I ended up paying less weeks after the sale ended.
