Unhappy Well, so far I f*cking hate it

As some of you might remember I sold my GTS about a month ago, and picked up a new M3 for family reasons. Well, so far my experience sucks Even though it's not broken in and I can't go past 5,500 rpms, I get the sneaky suspicion that I'll never get over the fact that this thing has about as much torque as a blender. And for some odd reason I just don't feal safe in the car In the Viper my senses felt almost razor sharp, and in tune. In the M3 I feel kind of numb and distracted.

So far I have stalled the thing 3 or 4 times at traffic lights. I just can't get used to the wimpy feel of the clutch and lack of torque coming out of the hole. In 12 years of manual ownership I have never had this happen, that being said though, I have always had at least a V8 to back me up. Will I ever get used to it??

I'm beginning to regret the fact that I opted for the M3 over the Caddy CTS-V, I bet I would have felt much more at home with the Vette engine and trans to play with. Maybe even the 300CSRT-8 would have been a better match.

As a lifelong gearhead, I'm currently in car ownership limbo. Not the place I thought I'd be at my age. It's a mid life crisis in reverse. Instead of running out and buying the bitchin sports car, I'm lamenting the fact that I traded in one the best cars on the planet for a German buzzbomb

If you picked up a M3 for family reasons why didn't you just get a minivan like Schill did?

I've driven a couple, and was more unimpressed than I thought I would be. The Caddie would have been a decent substitute ...

I have an M3 and think it is a fabulous car. It is rock solid, has outstanding fit and finish, and has an interior that actually looks like it wasn't designed by Rubbermaid. Of course it does not have the torque the Viper has, but once you get it in the right RPM range the motor can be quite powerful. And as far as handling is concerned, well, lets say at high speeds (100+) it makes my GTS feel like a runaway hot dog car bouncing off of curbs. Outstanding car IMO. Too bad you don't feel the same way. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Hope you rectify the issue and/or find something you like.

M3 is a good car just don't be afraid to lean on it. It's a car that has to be driven differently than a Viper

Chuck, what is it with you and the damned minivans already. Freud would say that you are unconsciously projecting your true inner feelings upon another.

Come on, spill your guts already and let it all out dude, you'll fell like a new man afterwards!!!

Now repeat after me.....

I really want a MINIVAN, I really want a MINIVAN

Now, as I snap my fingers you will wake up and remember none of this post. But, you will have an uncontrolable urge to rush out to the nearest Chrysler dealership and test drive a Town & Cuntry!

Ditch the M3 and get an Evo. For less than the M3 you can have a 500 whp Evo, 4 doors, lots of noise, some flashing lights that you don't really understand, and a melted bumper. Good times.
