Never design a body shape and then try to make the aerodynamics fit it.
Ehh, you mean like the viper? The Veryon was made to be the total package. They found a shape that they liked and made it work. Yes, to make it work there was a lot of active aero body work that had to be added but in the end, it gets the job done.
We're comparing two VERY different cars here my friend... I have absolutely no argument against Chad's car being a work of art in and of itself. Javo's car? Shit, what car lover on the internet hasn't drooled over his videos? To say another car out there can't be BUILT to perform as the Veryon does is silly; money can build anything - this site is a perfect example of that statement.
The Zonda F and Saleen are also badass; near the top of the "badass" list in fact, but still not the Veyron. It's sad that an engineering student wouldn't be drooling over this marvel. Bad aerodynamics? Tell me what kind of drag coefficient it takes for a car to be stable up to 200 mph - this thing goes over 25% faster than that and the technology that goes in to the wing on this thing has more R&D than most cars on the road (when not in “high speed mode”, of course)...
Plain and simple, you can build a car to perform as the Veyron... maybe even out-perform in some categories, but overall, right now and probably for some time, it's the bottom-line.
I do agree the Veyron is one bad motherfucker, BUT, it is a horribly inefficient design. It has what 350 MORE hp than the F1 and barely out ran it, that speaks enough as it is. But that being said it appears they did a fantastic job of getting that power to the ground, and honestly would be shocked if Javo's car could keep it in sight from 0-100 on street tires. His new car with tractio control, well idunno, but that awd is hard to fight with.
In all honesty I love the car for the sheer work of art it is as an entire package. But even if I had the means I would never buy one, the S7 is 10x sexier and with 1k hp it would be plenty fast enough.

The Viper's shape is extremely stable at speed. It just has a moderately high cd. I would take the Viper's shape as a starting point for a 250 mph car long before I would the Bugatti's shape. With as much electronic crap as they threw on the Bugatti, the Viper could put you to sleep at 250. In the end it gets the job done. Why stick with mediocrity. People hardly even like the way it looks!!! At least the Enzo critics can realize that the car is almost perfect aero-wise. The Ferrari Enzo is a FAR better platform for speed. A road going version of the FXX would absolutely rape the Bugatti in every measure except, maybe, the farthest edge of top speed-- but who cares about 10 mph on the top end. I am sure the FXX could hit 240s. Sure the car is good. Its damn good, but it sure as hell isn't the level of car I would expect for the money. The Ferrari Enzo cost half as much, as does the Zonda. If the performance of either does not satisfy you, then get Norwood to turbo it. Those turbos are the ONLY thing that set that car apart from the others. In every other category it is inferior.

Well said--plus the S7 weighs like what, 2750 Ibs. After 100 mph, the S7 would walk the Bugatti REAL hard.
I personality dont like the looks of the car im sure its super fast, but why not get a car that looks good and super fast such at the saleen S7 twinturbo
Well, Paolo will attest to the basic shape being stable as a rock at 200+ with just a little lowering. Without the aero stuff, engineers said the Veyron was virtually un-drivable at 185. We already have production cars capable of that speed stability wise. Saleen made one and that is group of engineers about 1/10 the size of the Volkswagen guys.
Edit: Another point-- The F1 did 240+ more than 10 years ago. There is not a big difference between 240 and 250! Both will pick a car right off the ground if you get enough air underneath it.

I'zzz beeeeeee getting one of those!!
Lastly.....ROGUE, PFR AND V10 PURPLE.....PLEASE STFU! :thumb:

I am well aware of Paolo's 200+MPH runs...
We are talking about 254MPH 'production'...and there is a big difference between 240 and 250MPH...
I would take an S7 any day over the Veyron...I am just pointing out your errors...

Ok, what is the big difference. Show me the huge aerodynamic challenges of going another 10 mph. Lets see some numbers. I mentioned the 200 mph runs just to illustrated that even the Viper has a better bodyshape to start out with.
