First impressions? WOW!! Despite only having a few miles on it from delivery (Woodhouse, of course), Frank even tossed me the keys and INSISTED I drive it. So I did! Quiet ride until you open 'er up a little bit. Still on break-in, plus it wasn't my car. Yet it still managed to pin you back in your seat, especially when you realize you are driving two tons of fun.
And those seats! They offer great lateral support without the stiff "bare bones" approach of the Viper SRT-10. Look great too. Car handles surprisingly well for its size, not to mention those awesome Brembo brakes that bring it VERY quickly to a halt. The interior is well laid out, like all Chrysler 300's. The 180 MPH speedo and "SRT" tach are a nice touch too:
I wanted one before and I REALLY want one now - only in black. My thanks to Frank for his very generous visit - he even took my son for a ride (the same one that has been all excited about the SRT-8 since he first started reading about it). Awesome car for an awesome friend!
This one has everything you could order on it. It is also one of only 235 made for 2005. They apparently already switched to the 2006 model year and raised the base price by $400. Also interesting to note that this car was ordered BEFORE the gas guzzler tax was announced, so he didn't have to pay it. Not bad!
Nice pics Chris.
I actually got the first 2005 delivered to retail. What an awesome ride - I keep forgetting I am driving a family car. This thing flies. Road & Track tested 0-60 in 4.9. Beautiful comfortable rides with all the toys.

The CTS-V has the crappiest interior quality I have seen in a while. I am very unimpressed. Everything else is nice, but it is built terribly. I love the SRT-8. Looks great, sounds great, performs great. The Hemi will take a supercharger nicely when they come out too!

Umm sorry but the dash in the SRT-8 looks like shit, just like the shit found in the base 300's It's just a bunch of cheap looking slabs with the worst console to exist in a car today. I cannot believe that there is no manual tranny option as well.
Motortrend did a comparo and the CTS-v beat it. For me the CTS-V is a better car hands down.
