They are still selling '03's in my area with a price tag of up to $23k. I called the dealership and asked, "What's up with the '03 for 23k?" They said that the owner of the dealer ship had spent big money wrapping the seats in leather, whatever that means.
Don't know about the ACR rumor, but I do know the Stage II ( when it comes out ) will be pushing close to 300 hp. The car is decent on the track, and if you check the Viper Days Final results , you will see that Kathy Stout screamed around in 1:48 and that was faster than alot of Snakes. The Dealers that are pushing the price up are looking at extra tool costs, training costs ,etc., and they are trying to recoup their money quickly. It makes alot more sense to us to just sell more cars to cover these expenses than to have one rot on the lot acrueing interest.
PS - We have a Red one, and a Black on will be coming in fairly soon.
well here at my dealership we are sold out of them already!!..and i've don 2 stage 1 kits for customers and believe me...it makes them flat out haul ass!!..as if they weren't fast enuff already!!..lol...but it does make a big difference!!..belive me!!!...Len
Will the stage II still be covered under factory warrantee, and if so, how about the stage III? That is, if the stage III is still going to be produced. If memory serves, the Stage II still uses the factory turbo, but the stage III upgrades the entire unit - at least that's what was said in Detroit 2003. Does this still hold true?
Oh yeah. Any rumors of the Razor being produced? Can you imagine a rear drive platform, at 2300 pounds or so, with the SRT4 motor.... For less $$$ than a Neon!
I had read that the Stage I and Stage II mods are both smog and warranty approved, but that the Stage III mod is off-road-only, and not covered under the warranty.
It's a cool little car and is the best around $20K new sports compact bargain out there today.
We have 4 DC Engineers driving these little beasts, and they are definitely not a Neon, anymore. Too much stuff is changed, the quiet deals to get a Quaife and the brilliance to swap out the Michelins and use the superlative BFG KDs was brilliant. This is a supreme pocket rocket, and so far we haven't had complaint one from out customers. Lots of smiles over the miles , for a car that will run easily in the low 13s with just a few mods. Luk does the clutch , just like in the Viper, and they are standing tall. I love this car,but momma needs more practicality, so we got a PT Cruiser....................course it is a GT ( Turbo), 5 speed, Stage 1 upgrade and a blow off valve! Momma does have to haul the groceries!!!
