I think it looks fresh, bold and modern.
The opposite of the Gen V.

I like the looks of the Gen5 - the headlights. But it's the poor performance that ruins it. 2013 should have come out swinging like in the past with 700hp and curb stomp the ZR1.

They should have kept the vette standard for the tail lights: round.

Ralph's in trouble when the Z06/07 or the ZR1 comes out. He better have something in the bag for the Gen V and surprise us like they did with the Le Mans car.

I heard some rumblings that the Z06 designation will be swapped out so they can revive the L88 designation for the new stingray.

Why does everyone act like the only way to buy a new Viper is at 140k? They start at under 100k for a car which is still nicer in every way than previous Vipers. Poor SRT can't win. Everyone under the sun said, "Just remake the Gen II and make it faster and we will come." Now they're under the gun for doing exactly that and your (collective) teenage girl-like temper tantrum over the Gen V reflects in you thinking this new vette looks anything but mediocre. Seriously..."I like everything except the Camaro/GTR back." Definitely no big deal...it's only half of the car.

They forgot the faster part. It also has to do with tradition. The Viper has always out performed the top vette.

If they bring back a L88 427 style monster I will jack off all over my computer screen for days.

For some reason it looks like a Lotus Exige had sex with a Camaro.

Unless a sports car was designed in the 80's (when everyone was coked out), it should have sexy curves.

Underneath the Gen5's skin is a Gen 4. That's all it really is IMO..

I'm told this C7 has really light weight components. They're claiming a even more light weight platform ref. the coming ZO7 / ZR1.

True. They added the x brace, changed some Suspension geometry. Added a new intake manifold and tune. Then they updated the Interior and body. They did not do anything groundbreaking or extraordinary. Engine chassis drivetrain are all basically the same. The only real work they did is on the body and interior. All the changes were Cosmetic not performance. That simply is not what Viper DNA is all about. Quite the opposite really

Agreed 100%

Also, don't forget they had all the data and info they needed to size up the dated competition and really come out and lay down a runner!!! Instead...WE GOT BULLSHIT!

Now the bar has been raised once again...watch! the C7 ZR1 / ZO7 will wax the Gen. V!

I like the looks, except for the rearend. And I also question the use of a 7-speed manual transmission when six is plenty; that choice may be contributing the the extra tonnage.

Still, at $53k, they'll sell like hotcakes. As will the aftermarket.

The MR shocks and new suspension components for the z51 is nice. Chevy hit a home run.

I didn't like the 1st renderings of the vette, but
now, I'm liking it a lot more.
Still love the viper, but the 5th Gen didn't stomp 'em like it should've.
Not that I'm even close to a lazy $140k to plonk on a 2013, but, it getting beat
(sorta resoundingly - CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T PUT THE SAME TIRES -as the ZR1- ON THE TRACK PACK ! )
. . by 2 seconds from GOV Motors ... OLD car. Oopps.

I guess the best thing outta all this is that, all car manufacturers now know, that they've gotta bring all their best guns to the war.
