Chicagoland Dodge Dealers

Has anyone had good experiences with any of the Dodge dealers up in the Chicago area? I'm looking into a Viper up there, but would like to take it to a reputable dealer to have it inspected first.

Based on a google search, the closest dealers to where the car is are:

#1 Hawk Chrysler Dodge Jeep - Forest Park
#2 Jack Phelan Dodge - Countryside
#3 Larry Roesch Chrysler Jeep Dodge - Elmhurst
#4 Midway Dodge Inc - Chicago
#5 Marino Chrysler Jeep Dodge - Chicago
#6 Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep - Downer's Grove

Roanoke is < 30 minutes away from me and where I would plan on taking it to be serviced. Problem is I dont think someone up in chicago is going to let me test drive it down to Roanoke just to get an inspection

Have the seller meet you there with the car, and offer to pay the gas and lunch...it would be well worth letting people who work on Vipers ALL of the time check it out versus having a dealership who rarely works on them tell you the car is fine. If the car is what the seller says that it is then he/she should have no problem doing this.

There are numerous threads on what to check for when buying a used Viper. You could just get it on a lift at the dealership and look at it yourself also. Take pictures and ask here if you find questionable items before you buy it.

Look down the frame rails from underneath for any oddity or offset. Look for any kinks etc. Have the wheel bearings and ball joints checked for play. A lot of dealers would overlook the clutch fluid when prepping a used car so if it is very dark and have any sediment in it that would be a good indication of how it was taken care of overall IMO. Check the diff fluid also as most times it is totally neglected.

Drive it and try a fairly aggressive 1-2 and 2-3 shift to check for any clutch/trans issues. How old are the tires? check the dates on them to see if they are more then 4 years old then negotiate the price if they are.

Zeigler=arrogant pricks

Marinos stocks a lot of SRT vehicles. If you are looking for an SRT then they might be helpful.
