A couple GT owners took their cars out on a private track day.
Venue was Willow Springs. Fair weather. Cars were stock to near stock, some running Hoosier r6's, motons, pulleys.... all cars had heating issues with cooling systems pushing 240 degrees. We all ran 3rd to 4th gears.
Fastest of the bunch popped out a 1:31.
I love these cars but I thought they would go faster(out of the box).

I am not sure where you are going with this? It seems like the driver has far more to do with it than the just car. I have seen people on MSR in a miata or caymen that will embarrass someone in a much more powerful car.

what's your point chris?
I am trying to figure out yours. You are complaining about a car that is faster than you around the track... Tell you what if I can get sometime again to get to Cali and SoCal has time to come out to the track I think he drives better than me. I will bring my secret weapon.... Don't laugh this thing has injured many a drunk skydiver on runways at night....
I wasn'r complaining just stating facts. Some people actually want to know what happens when they track their cars.
Do you even own a GT? I own a couple. I just took them out to the track FOR THE FIRST TIME and thopught I would share what I learned.
Chris, do you own a GT and do you track it. If not, maybe you should not opine. I'm really not looking for a smackdown just sharing knowledge to people that give a damn on tracking these cars.

If you wanted peoples opinion about tracking the cars you might say... " hey I tracked my GT and I am not happy with the results do any of you other guys have something to add to this?" just a thought but don't listen to me I am just a poe florda craker can't affords nuns them cars.

A 1:31 especially on R6's is pretty sad for a FGT, especially if it hadda a pully. I pulled a 1:30 flat in a stock Viper with R3s. Terry Rossi clocked a 1:29 flat on Pilot Sports in a completely stock '99 GTS. Sooooo, I guess FGT's in comparison are slower then a Viper on a road course

Clarification, Hannemann made the 31 in the same car and it happened to be a GTX(roadster).
And I'm not bitching the car.
Ok, my mistake I thought you were just calling out GT's because of something at the track, I would say it is different if you own the car. Funny you mention that because my Lambo went away this morning and I found this link..... GTX1 Story
