Just curious if any of you Viper Alley members are going to the Ford GT Rally in Dearborn next week. I know Biggs is, but is anyone else going? I'll be there representing the "D". Detroit that is. Biggs, are you driving your GT up or having it trailered there? Or just leaving it at home?
Gary Almond is bringing it up for him. That's how he rolls. I haven't heard of anyone else from here going. Unfortunately, my old car won't be making it.
I was going to come , but apparently its more of an "invite only" event , catering to only those that are registered ( which the rally is full ) - I was hoping to have my FGT by then , but on the flip side it would be fun to eat some GT's for lunch with the TT car , oh well.
Its going down on saturday , Ill see if I can get some decent video
Sounds interesting, looking forward to the report and vids...
Yeah, Gary's picking up my car Saturday and it will be there when I fly in Wednesday. Could'a got a couple of pulley jobs instead, but I've got a feeling this rally is going to be very special, and I wanted to have my car there, without the wear and tear.

I don't blame ya for trailering it there Biggs. I'm gonna see if I can get one of my buddies to stand on an overpass and video the 75-100 Ford GT's as they drive by on the highway after the factory tour. That would be a cool video op.
I will be going with Fuelman out of Orlando..... it will be the other GT in Gary Almond's trailer. Gary said, he will pick up Biggest GT in Texas when head over to Orlando and pick up John's White with Blue strips GT and take them both to Michigan. Then it will be one party after another.
I thought about at one point of bring the cousin to GT to the rally, but I thought it would not be appropriate because it would look like the orange Bastard child.
RockStar ....Niagara Falls sounds interesting and it is very close....how long would it take to drive there at night?
I have seen Niagara Falls since I was about 15...over 30 years ago. The only way years ago to see it, was to drill holes in the barrel as you were going over the edge. I am glad today they use boats for up close viewing.

AMong, The Saleen plant is one of the tours on the agenda. Ward, I thought they made the GT engine there, but the car was built (assembled) at the Wixom plant? You've been there so you know better than I, but this is just what I heard and is what's on the agenda (Wixom tour also).

Looking forward to meeting you in Detroit!
Any word on my 'secret weapon?'
The Ford GT is definitely assembled at the Wixom plant. I think Saleen Special Vehicles in Troy just paints the body panels. As for the engine, I think it is assembled at the Romeo Engine Plant. See you next week guys. I'll take you to all the "finer" establishments.
