I don't even think it's that long. MCMM and a couple of guys met me in Niagara a couple of years ago and I think I remember them saying it was around 3 hours.

In a Viper or Ford GT you are right on at about 3 hours or so to Niagara Falls. Great time up there with Rockstar and the other guys. I think High Roller, Get Bit, & Whitebeard were there. Rockstar is quite the host. And Biggs, the Saleen Special Vehicles plant is the Troy plant (in Troy, Michigan).
Homies,
The VAST majority of the assembly in fact occurs at saleen special vehicles in Troy. Basically a naked frame arrives at SSV, and a car minus a motor and seats leaves on a Hazen truck to WFA 2 days later(minus paint time). They deck the motor, put in some of the interior and the vinyl stripes, test NVH, and run it on the dyno at Wixom. I've been through both facilities extensively, and I got to watch my car be built.
This is my car on the day one:
Next day:
AMong, if you want to come, let me know. You are definitely invited. The only reason I've had to quash a free for all is because of requirements some of the facilities have. Wixom is a UAW facility and has pretty stringent requirements, and we're pushing it just bringing 200 total people. That said, I will definitely get you in if you can come. The whole GT team has a massive desire to see that car!
Ward, bring the S7!!!!!! They'll be doing ride and drives in the yellow press car, but it's an N/A car. Not that you can use the TT on Maple, but hey, I need a ride in that thing.
Gary Almond is in Orlando as we speak, picking up Fuelmans GT, then going to Texas to get Biggest GT(Gary had a Florida delivery last second, that is why he is reversing his schedule).
As much as I would like to bring the S7, it would not be right to take any thunder/ attention away from what the event is about....THE GT.
It would make any extremely good picture to have the picture taken with a sea of the S7 brothers and sister around it. It would be American technology and muscle at its finest.
That reminds me of a funny car club story.
I was invited by a friend to a local Ferrari club meeting at a local restaurant. I will say they were extremely nice and I had a great time. But there was a funny story I must tell. They lined up all their Ferraris infront of the local Italian restaurant and roped them off from the public for display. It was my first Farrari club meeting although I had meet a few of the people from other car clubs, so I was very careful about what I said and did. I have a good sense of humor, but I kept it in check so I did not unintentially make any one mad. I parked at the end inbetween 2 good looking current day day models, there was a F 40 and a few other very old and rare Farraris in attendance. As the public view the Farraris they would get 1/2 way down and spot my S7, then they would imeditaly pass up all the rest and come down to the S7and rave about it and just go and and on about it. It was embarrassing and very impressive at the same time, all the while I felt bad for the Farrari owners and myself.
The pinnacle of of embarrassment came when a young lady came a read the badge on the front hood and said Saaaaaleeeen, then Saleen. She turned to her girlfriend and said like she was a renown car authority, "you know this new model of Farrari and it is called Saleen, it is the best looking Ferrari they have ever built!" It was so damn funny I wanted to bust out laughing, BUT I was amongst a crowd of 4 to 5 Ferrari owners and did not want to embarrass them. I am a very big believer in America and the American car companies and to this date I have never owned anything but American cars.
DBK, I appreciate the invite and effort , I was actually at Stage6 with both of the TT gt's from Jax today , they were just finishing up the polishing on joes kit and torrie's is complete ... The newest version of the kit ( on torrie's black car ) looks really good , much improved over the first one . Also they made just under 870 RWHP on pump gas !!! they are both coming to the rally in the same trailer , you guys should have a great time !
Once I get my car its going to be tough not to want to TT the car , but will most likely end up doing it - would that make Jax, Fl the TTGT capitol of the world ??
My car is loaded up and gone. Gary was afraid he couldn't turn the trailer around on my street (cul-de-sac) so we loaded up around the corner. Lot's of gawkers; one lady went and got her Cobra Mustang and was telling me how rare it was yada, I listened politely. Everyone else was taking pictures and saying they'd never seen one GT much less two! I told them I just live around the corner and drive it all the time, just goes to show you... These neighbors live 4 houses away from me (around the corner) and I've never met them in almost three years.

I've been thinking about that Doh, and 3 hours each way is unfortunately NOT a short trip, not with all the scheduled stuff. I am way overdue for a trip up that way at some point, as I have some other friends in Rochester and Buffalo in addition to Greg across the river.

No prob brother, it is a bit of a haul, i was just trying to use the power of suggestion
Have a good time though, and we'll catch you when you do come up
The GT's are already showing up. Last night, we took two of them downtown to Camilo's studio last night and the gridlock from the Tigers game had us in plenty of pictures. The 5 in front of the hotel we're drawing plenty of gawkers. Now we wait for the other 70.
See you Ford GT'ers tomorrow. I only work about a mile from the Ritz Carlton so I'll head up there after work at about 5:00. If you out of town guys don't want to drive around in your GT's when you want to hit the town I'd be glad to chauffeur you around.
Are you gonna bring the GTS? Weather should be excellent today. My white one will be sitting under the entry all day. You'll know it when you see the plate.
