Sure we would all rather have the Heffner kit, but considering this is just a rough prototype for a guy who wants power and no bling, it serves its purpose.
who throws down for a FGT and then doesn't give a shit what his TT system looks like?
My thoughts exactly.. the whole mentality behind owning a car like that, IMO, is if you can afford the car, you can afford the cost to have the best.. I can understand the 'prototype' stage of that kit, but like everyone else, I'm going to say that Heffner's kit is absolutely beautiful. If I had the car, and went to pick it up, I'd expect to see what heffner did with it, not the hastily made LOOKING kit.. even if it is more powerful.
More powerful is all relative. Does anyone think Heffner couldn't make 1000 rwhp? 1500 rwhp? The stock bottom end is known to "fatigue" at 850 rwhp. So delivering more than that seems a tad irresponsible. Someone will want a BIG system including an engine and then you'll see what's possible. But this time, it's not me.
This "realistic" big power is so much more fun than the tradeoffs associated with getting the last little bit of mega power.
This system needs to be seen and experienced to be believed. What an amazing package the car becomes.

I would love to see this system actually run at a track to see what numbers it puts down there, Dyno numbers are one thing, ET's and MPH are another. Could the wal-mart system survive a track day?

Walmart is the world's largest distributor.. so that's a little too kind. How about Kmart?

The customer of this car obviously. I wouldn't put the shit on my GT. And yes, going well over the power that this motor can handle without being built is irresponsible. That is when the 10 day rebuild comes into play.
Take that 1000wrhp GT around Sebring like this Black and Silver GT did this weekend at Viper Days in high 80 degree heat. Hopefully you will have good results too.

and to be completely fair, ask Chad to do the same as well.
Looks can be changed on the next go around. No one says Joe has recieved delivery of the only 1000hp GT. I've gotta say Heffner's kit is gorgeous but he's been working on his stuff longer and gotten time to pretty up the car. Wait to compare finished product vs finished product I think you'll have a lot of similarities and both will look fantastic.
As far as price, lets face it R&D has to be spread out over fewer units when doing a Ford GT then lets say a Honda or Supra or other mass produced car. Also your R&D price is a high one when you start with a $150k car and are responsible for consequences of a $150k car.
As far as road racing vs street car vs drag setup each customer asks for a different combination so not sure if its fair to compare 1 car to another if they are built for different purposes. I'd like to see Chad's drag car or my Drag car road race to, but its not going to happen.

.
Yeah, I bet one might look like a copy of the other

Uh, what makes you think that the TT GT that Jason built isn't his prototype too? "gotten time to pretty up the car"? Are you kidding? I happen to know for a fact that what you saw in that picture of Jason's creation is his first and only version.
Jason has always set the pace and I've been saying that for about 5 years now.
Resistance is futile. You too will become a believer. Welcome to the bandwagon.
