The Heffner kit is a top of the line peice you ship your car to him to get. and your comapring that to a DIY kit (stock mass air , and stock headers) that will be substantially less $ ?

That's the stock mass air? I understand your thinking, but I'm not sure someone who just shelled out 150 large for a GT, is going to go with the bargain basement TT deal just to save a few pennies.

Newsflash moron. People who spend 150K on a car typically want a quality piece and don't mind paying for it.

Somehow I think the mustang/honda civic/ls1 bargain basement walmart sale shopping isnt the type of guy throwing down a buck seventy on a supercar to save cash. People are looking for a work of art, not something that resembles....THAT.

look again, this thing is not even close to being symmetrical. Just look at the "Y" that connects to the MAF and air filter, it looks like a blind retard hacked that together while enduring a siezure. That thing looks like garbage.

wow, didnt see that angle, lol. I stand corrected. I do like seeing the turbos though, the heffner kit does look better now that I look at it better.

vten, as for that comment... grow up man

its ok to root for the underdog when your watching basketball or something but when it comes to cars if you gonna do something, do it right the first time

Im sure heffner was an underdog at one time, its now you get better!

look where he is today, he has a bunch of great cars at his shop and he gets good results! failure and hard work pays off in the long run!

so you had paolo ruin your car a few times so he could fail and charge for some hard work to hopefully pay off for him in the long run? you missed my point, you tried to save a few grand being a guinea pig and now your sick of your car and trying to sell in without a motor.

you werent a nitrouspete worshiper too were you?

If someone did that shit to my GT, I would fucking beat them like a rented mule. That looks like complete and total shit. Again, this is why you don't let someone who works on Civics build a turbo system for your GT.

Part of the problem with highly exposed twin turbos is the inability to get reverse rotation turbo units - making perfect symmetry impossible...

and if you can't get it perfect - trying to get close usually just looks wrong.

Having said that - in terms of function - that setup should be very efficient as long as you can keep intake temps down. Afterall - pressure drop should be way better compared to other TT systems - simply because there is so much less plumbing to navigate.

Looking at the graph - it does make great power in the racing rpm range - but here's the the real interesting thing:

psi for psi - despite LOOKING MORE EFFICIENT (just because the plumbing is so much shorter and straighter without intercoolers) - it makes no more hp that what I'd pick the Heffner system will make at 18psi... so in fact it is not as efficient as it looks

I'll qualify that with one thing - that car ran on pump gas we're told.... was the Heffner car run on pump gas too? If so - the intercooled Heffner setup is just as efficient!

If there was 100hp+ difference at 18psi like I'd have expected - that'd be worth it to many folk. If however power is about the same at similar boost - who would not want the prettier setup?

I know I'd go for the better looking setup if the power was even close.

For those that don't know - with a really good high volume water injection system - no intercooler is needed. The problem is that you need 30% water as fuel by volume at WOT - and that requires a bit more than the typical single pump water systems deliver.

Uhhh... doesn't this system keep the factory water-air intercooler wedged in between the cylinders?

Those extensions ro mount the blow off valves are terrible on the 2nd kit. Rotated to the underside of the coldside pipes would have looked much cleaner and made plumbing the signal lines invisible. BOVs always seem to look like an afterthought unless hidden.
