Technically speaking, you are correct, however...the #98 car driven to victory by Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby in the 1966 12 Hours of Sebring was, in fact, an X-1 that was re-bodied to emulate the Mark II roadster. It was classified as the 7.0 Ford Mk IIA...

Awesome! When I first heard about the open-roof Ford GT concept, I kinda' figured it would look like a sawed off supercar. But man, the finished product looks truly kickass. I've tried the closed version only very briefly. It'd be nice to get a shot in the GTX, but (sigh) it's not very likely!
