What a blast that car is to drive, never thought I would say that about a Ford. The braking, handling, ride quality and performance were very impressive. Power is linear and the tranny shifts like butter. Fuelman was my copilot, now he wants one and found a white/blue stripes @ a dealer for sticker.
Get one soon John so I can borrow her for the weekends!
Havent driven one but sat in one at the dealership and wow I really like how it shifts. Specially compared to the viper that is stiff and notchy and the best part is that they both have a T56! (different configurations though)
The Ford GT does not use a Tremec T-56 Transmission. Its uses a Euro-made Ricardo Transaxle. It would be awfully hard (not impossible) to fit a T-56 into a mid-engine configuration.
Keep your panties on Mr. Trickle, you're going to be fine...really. I'll have them up when I get a chance to settle in with the new house. Nagging wife doesn't give me a whole lot of time to myself these days. And then there is the kids. But rest assured they will be up soon. If you're really going to have a heart-attack then visit www.arielatom.com Its a British company and the distributor for the US is Brammo Motorsports in Oregon. Great bunch of guys. They had their Brammo/Xtrac 6-speed gearbox at PRI last weekend. Its going to be in their up and coming mid-engine V-12 road car. www.brammo.com [color:red] [color:red]

You sat in it with the engine off ratcheting through the gears and you know it "shifts" better than the Viper? Did you compare it to the Vipers show room shifting abilities?

Sounds like Car & Driver did that comparison also

I like to sit on ATV's at the local shop and make engine noises while I'm pretending to ride it.
