Today, Dec 17 there are 17 on E-Bay with the highest bid 220,000.
I will post on a random time schedule the inventory and prices of the other American supercar.
Their production numbers of 1,500+ per year for 2 years seem high for the 149,000 sticker price. I believe in about six months they will be available at sticker. Two years from now I believe that used ones with 7,000 miles will be selling for 100,000. I will buy one if the price gets there.
Feel free to dispute, trash and harass my guesses.
They build about 2200 Modenas a year, with about 1/3 coming to the U.S., so about 700. Their sticker is 10 or 20K higher than the GT. The blue Ford oval will hopefully reduce the driveway jewelery effect that the Ferrari has.
No big change. Because of the recall and the driveability issues it may take a couple months before new ones are available again. This may slow pices dropping for two months.
The bids are definitely going down- they are from 188-212K today. The asking prices are still too high - the dealers are getting a little more realistic though- I noticed a 225K buy-it-now price and a 227K no-reserve starting price. So it looks like, in the current market, people are willing to pay around 200 and dealers are still hoping for 225K. Hopefully we will be seeing buy-it-now prices of 150K by summer.
I got a cousin that works at a ford dealership, All of his GT's go for 300k and up. They are always sold before they ever get to the lot. Hopefully the price will drop to the original.
i'll take one at sticker price, and not one penny more(i may have to wait another year or so, but i will get one at my price((might have to be a used one)). i can be patient not in a hurry here. that and by the time i can get one at my price there may be something other than the Ford GT i will want, be it faster or better handling. Or i may just have to supercharge the SRT and save my self a bunch of money and kick the pants off most everthing else out there.
A new website www.FordGTprices.com tracks Ford GT selling prices on eBay, and has other info, including total sales (from Ford financial reports) and production numbers to date (from Automotive News).
There's also a graph showing how fast prices dropped after the original 1992 Viper intro.
Good site but this BS gets so funny sometimes... The mkt price for a new Ford GT is no different than the mkt price for anything:
A buyer will pay an amount he/she considers the car is worth.
A seller will sell for an amount he/she considers the car is worth.
When the two amounts are equal... a trade is made. Period.
Their is no fair or unfair price... MSRP, graphs, jumping up and down means nothing.
That's exactly what that www.FordGTprices.com site says, and it explains why prices will keep going down, because the buyers willing to pay $50K to $100K over sticker have already got their cars....
There is one in Sacramento that they called my friend on today. They want 279k and with no hesitation they told him they would go to 225k. Still about 30-35k to high it appears.
