With all the problems, I think they are falling out of favor a bit. And supply will increase once problems are fixed. Quality problems may have kept these cars from being extremely soughtafter.
That being said, I want one ASA MSRP is available.
The http://www.FordGTprices.com website has been updated, including new selling price data and Ford GT production numbers and sales numbers for the month of May.
There was a White/Blue striped one at Toy Barn in Dublin Ohio last week. I went in looking... sat in it... it's leg room was comfortable for my 6'4"..... but with the door closed head room was on the "close" side a bit.
Friday I looked at it... the next Monday the salesman called me five times... price dropped from $219K to $189K... I told him if he got to sticker we might talk...
I went by there tonight.... Gone.
Reason #1: Many dealers are waiting in vain to find buyers willing to pay $180K or $200K or more, instead of paying the current market price of $165K-$170K.
Reason #2: Ford's recent highly-illogical $10,000 price increase ("Hey, sales are slow, let's raise the price!") has further confused buyers and sellers (and they were already confused enough!)
When the Viper came out the guys on the Corvette boards wouldn't have liked a Viper price monitor, yet a lot of us moved up to Vipers. The GT is a superior American supercar and many Viper owners are considering one. I hope the '07 Viper offers a huge performance increase that puts the GT to shame, but that hasn't happened yet.
If you aren't interested in the GT no one is forcing you to read this thread.

If I remember correctly. The SRT10 was compared to the GT a while back. With the SRT winning all but 1 catagory.

That was a pre-prod car quite a while ago when they ran 500hp. Head to head using current production versions, the GT significantly outperforms the SRT10. I think the last up to date comparo was the contest in which the Hennessy car did 0-200 in 21 seconds. There's a scan of it somewhere on here, but the GT has a wide gap from 0-100, 0-150, 100-150, and 0-60. They didn't do braking, but I'd imagine they'd be comparable, and 0-200 would clearly be in the GT's favor.
Just looked it up
GT/Viper
0-100= 8.6/9.6
0-150= 19.5/24.1
100-150= 10.9/14.6
0-60 = 3.6/4.4
So you have +1, +4.6, +3.7, +.8
For comparison, in the same test, the gaps between the SRT-10 and the C6 were:
Obviously it's a rag test in uncorrected ultra hot conditions, but while the numbers aren't terribly spectacular, the performance difference remains. The GT is roughly to the SRT is what the SRT is to the C6 speed wise(although I'd guess the braking on the SRT is the equal or better of the GT).
