What part of not having a blank check from me do you fail to grasp? You do not have the right to my life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness. Furthermore, you do not have the rights to one bit of property that I may own, whether physical or intellectual unless I personally give it to you. In otherwords, you don't need to tell me how I am supposed to think, or how I should think. It's my life, as is yours.

As Rock Star has been giving you a fair amount of hell, I'll tell you straight up how much you suck. This won't be a lesson on how or what to think, as synaptic response seems to be lost upon you. Don't bastardize the argument; patriotism is a mentality, not a way of life. It's a set of values; one has to maintain a principled, measured, and somewhat idealistic perspective to take up arms and defend not only themselves, but everyone else they represent. You, a seemingly arching monstrosity of liberalism should at least be idealistic enough, but instead you spout a bitter diatribe of bullshit. As a liberal, I'm not suprised you are used to throwing responsibilty to others; you et al lifestyle of
"it's someone elses fault" boils into every aspect of your philosophy. But, I love the fact that you can sit back and
enjoy what my father, his father, and those before him
earned for you. Your life, liberty, and pursuit of hippyness was garnered by thousands of men and women who busted their asses - remember that.
To step out onto the battlefield and die for your country seems empty at times. But the bigger picture is more telling - the mentality, that American Animal that says FUCK YOU to risk, kicks its ass, and comes back for more is the reason I'm proud to be an American. There is huge worth in knowing, if faced with the decision, you would fight for this land, this history, and this freedom.
God Bless those who served in the Armed Forces.
