If the owner is pulling 4 mill out of this dealership a year (i am assuming you ment net) then it is a substantial dealership. to pull 4 mill out of 1(i am assuming again) lot would put you at a 75-100 million gross store a year. That would make this dealer you are working at one of the largest in the country(top 5%) easy.

1. the backtraking I was refering to was first you said you made 18k then You admited that this was not every month..then the figure was lowered to 12K
2.You have not explained how you at 21 have come to be in this position

i get 8% of my departments net. so a good month is 230k a bad one is 180k average 320 cars. if any of you here know a dealer ask what % should be payroll. they will tell you 19-21. there are 3 people under me that make 3.5-4.5% each. when my payplan was aggreed on a good month for the dept was 140-150k, they didnt plan on paying me what i make i know but whn i increased the net by 50k on the average they arent gonna take my extra couple grand. not that i need to post that stuff but there it is.
there i made it easy. my pay was set at 8% at a time when the profit was about 150 k per month.
now im still at 8% but i have raised the profit to the 200+ range just about every month.

And does this include any kickback from the finance co's, for doing business with them. Or with the alarm and other vendors that do business with the dealership.
While it is dishonest to do this, it still occurs. It was practices like these that makes the auto business a mess.

the question is: are you recieving monies and other types of gratuitous items in exchange for granting business to one firm over another? Is there an 'insentive' program to do business with them? Is the customer ever made aware that the reason why you chose one lender vs another? Yes or no.
Call it what you want, it's a bribe. You are being paid with money and gifts to do business with them. There is no difference between that and someone paying a police officer to look the other direction. I find those who do this without disclosure to the customer to be disgusting and dishonest. (At no time do you work for the customer, the group you should be concerned about.)
Before you start attempting to smack me around, I have been in the automobile business longer than you ever will be. I started 15 years ago, and still keep my hand in it. I still can access 1500 Ford, GM, Chrysler/Jeep, Mitsu, Toyota, Saab, Mitsubishi, Nissan, etc, dealerships. I still talk to Zone managers and to Dearbourne, Kokomo, and to Huntsville.
At this point, I do not take money from any of these contacts. And they know better than to offer. I also know hunderds of F and I managers who do not take a reserve, participation, kickback, or whatever you wish to call it.
