As some may remember, I had a problem with a coworker who never showed up on time, left without warning. etc.. Well, the SOB got himself fired this morning. He threatened another employee for tapping his foot. I guess it was really nasty confrontation.
Tonight, the third shift crew, are afraid to go to work, over his theats. My boss is asking me to go and cover the shift.
I did not get the chance to get to sleep, and I just got off a confrence call with Korea.
I am a technical support to a company that supplies hard ware and software for video on demand systems to Cable and satellite broadcasters. Depending on where you live and the cable co, one of our systems works there. I can see just how much porn Rockford, Ill, NY city, orTexas, east coast, LA and Bakerfield etc... orders. Can't say who is ordering it, but I can see how much is.

You think that's bad, I worked as a production supervisor for an auto assembly plant where this one UAW guy threatened to bring a gun in and kill his supervisor, so he got fired. Then we were told to go to our cars at the end of the shift with someone else til it all blew over. A few years before some other UAW guy got fired and he came in the next day with a gun and chased his supervisor down the aisle with it. I was threatened with bodily harm and assaulted myself once. One of my current co-workers was working in a plant near me a few years ago when a guy came in looking for this girl he was stalking. He ended up killing at least one person with a gun and wounded a few others. Anyways, this guy I work with was there at the time, heard the gunfire, and ran like hell down the aisle to get outside.
I did not have time before to give full picture. When I started at thei company, there had just been a shakeup in employees. One of the positions that had been deleted, the employee was added to the tech support group. This dude was tightly wrapped then. As I have been here and watched him, he had made some really nasty comments to customers, Rude to cowarkers, and watch him on serveral occations blow up on co workers(me being one of them for playing viper radio too loud, and another coworker for tapping his foot)
I really did not worry on this guy due to several points
1 I out weight him by an easy 120 lbs.
He has not fought anyone in 15 years.
He has no beef with me
He is very aware that I will get up in every occation and I will make sure he spents a great deal of time with a bag to shi* in.
It's not really Direct TV, Nor is it "in Demand" aka HITS or "Headend In The Sky". If your remote has VCr controls on it that work with your cable box, odds are one of my systems is running the films. This allows you to Fast forward, rewind, pause and replay the ordered video for a selected time(usually 24 hours). I cannot track by house address but by the box's MAC address. If you are using the motorola Digital boxes, and know how to access the mac address. With that number I can tell, when assets are ordered, what was ordered, when you fast forwarded, rewound and number of times the asset was played. This includes SVOD like HBO on Demand, Cinemax on Demand, Mag Rack, and a number of different systems. All are on NT or 2000, using SQL 2000 for the DB and proprietary software for the video pump.
No I cannot watch the movies here or there would be a lot of soup available in the Kitchen from screen shots. Nor can I erase your account.
My brother worked at a place and had to let a guy who that was a little "weird". Well, he was convinced my bro had it in for him and emailed and left voicemails for my bro saying things like "you better watch your back, someday, sometime I will get even with you" and stuff like that.
He didn't wanna do anything about it, but I urged them to call the cops and go that route, if for no other reason than to establish a record of the situation. Then if this guy is on the company premises, rather than the cops just telling him to leave, they will have a record and will be able to do more.
Also, the cops showing up asking him about threats he made will be a pretty good demotivator for him to try anything.

I work in Maynard, and live in NH. If Mass didn't cost so much for a non resident permit, I'd be carrying daily( Just the habit, after working on cars for 15 years).
All kidding aside, This kid is not looking for me. He is after another in the group. Since I am only one here at night, four nights(Now five) out of seven, my boss is concened. I really am not ( kid could hit the broad side of a bar.)
