The director on one of the movies I'm working on is a bit of a car guy. He has one of his cars in the shop right now, a RX-7, to get it pumped up to about 350 hp. When he gets the car back, we plan on taking our cars out and playing around a bit. I know that the RX-7 is pretty light and is quick with the 250 stock hp so I imagine that 350 hp is going to be a lot for that little car. How will my 2002 GTS do against it? I have exhaust and smooth tubes, nothing major.
The thing is that small 1.3 liter engine has weak apex seals. Is he going to a 3 rotor? They make a good deal of power, but Ive had friends with highly modded single turbo 7's porting, and new seals...still no match for a Viper. Torque is king.

He didn't mention anything about a three rotor so I don't think he went that route. I've heard that the 3 rotors are pretty wicked though. It should be fun to see what his car can do. Hopefully I can get him up to take a trip to the drag strip so we can run a little harder than the local private track allows.
3 rotor "Banzai" motors can push 550-700hp so it can be deadly to stock/modded Vipers....Obviously its a 13b he has with 350hp...You will own him...With that power he is still way off a STOCK Viper...It probably traps mid to high 12's but the mph is gonna be around 110-113..So you got him covered...Now if he has stickers BEWARE [img]/images/graemlins/laughing.gif[/img]
Just because it's a 13B doesn't mean it's not powerfull, and just because many blow apex seals doesn't mean this guy doesn't know what he's doing.
I made 647 whp @ 1.6bar with a 13B single turbo (no nitrous of course) in my 86 RX-7 a few years back, so the power can be made (and I didn't blow any apex seals on that engine)
However, if he is making 350 whp, you will still own him! Sure it's light, but not THAT light!
