Re: Would you buy a Fuel Cell vehicle? Shit things look bad for IC engines
What about a new source of fuel? I have HEARD, not from anybody that would know there ass from a hole in the ground, that there has been invented a source of fuel that is able to run in current internal combustion engines that is derived out of (Smokin's gonna love this) corn. Has anybody heard of anything like this? Or know of any other renewable resources that could be used as fuel?

I think the fuel cell and electric hybrids are great ideas. Traffic in Houston is so horrible. I can't have any fun with my cars on the way to/from work anyway, so I might as well drive some little turd-mobile. Maybe if a bunch of the tree-huggers buy these cars we will get less hassle for owning our environmentally incorrect gas hogs.

You know thats not the case, the more popular these things become, the less likely the enviro-nazis are going to be willing to accept traditional IC engine cars. Its the same reason that CARB gets more and more strict and cars need to pollute less and less. There is NO exemption in California, NY, and many other states which have adopted CARB policies except for pre 73 cars. Doesnt matter how much you pay, you have to fix the damned things.

Smokin's right. Often law follows society's lead. Cigarettes for example, society pressure and education effectively reduced smoke in restaurants to sections and reasonable levels so the lawmakers decided to jump in and make restaurant smoking illegal all together.
The same thing would happen with these electric cars. If 70% of society drove them the government would outlaw everything else and make everyone drive them. Of course they'd put it to vote and say it's the democratic process, and they'd be right. Strange how a democratic society can vote away their freedoms. Buncha haters.

Yea Smokin, that's probably true, but it did seem like a good idea while I was typing it. I guess I was just trying to be optimistic, but I'm not very good at it. I'm a die hard pessimist.
There's no wonder that we have some kind of ozone problem from all the automobile exhaust. I drove up I-45 to corvettes of houston last Friday and the traffic was horrendous. It took me at least twice as long to get there and back than it should have. It would have to help out a bunch if our roads were properly sized for the amount of traffic we have. All these cars are just sitting in traffic puking out exhaust when they should have made it home or to work in half the time it actually takes.
I guess I'm pretty hypocritical to complain about pollution. My daily driver leaks oil from everywhere and runs pig rich. I keep thinking that some day it will blow up. If not, I guess I'll just have to fix the leaks.

Stop worrying, take off those cats, pour some used engine oil down a rain gutter...it'll do you good
