I think the current laws suck, they only disarm the honest leaving them defenceless. I think teachers and others that deal with groups of people should be allowed concealed carry, then the bad guys would never know who might stop their clock.
Any new law just keeps honest people honest. Until we lock people up for 40 years instead of 5 and 10 years or pathetic house arrests any and all new laws are useless.
Well, not totally useless, they keep the lawyers, judges and cops employed and suck money from taxpayers.

NY State you can carry your firearm concealed IF you have a permit, you just can't carry in NYC where you need it.
In AZ I can carry anywhere but a bar and a state building.
At last count there were 18,000 gun laws on the books, and you know what, murder to my knowledge has always been illegal. Guns laws do nothing except make harder for decent folks. Besides criminals DO NOT go through legal means to obtain a firearm anyway.
To prove the point about gun laws the CDC states it will no longer follow or concern itself with firearm studies.

unless you can prove that you carry large amounts of cash, it is almost impossible to get a CCW in NY. With the amount of paperwork that NY makes you do to get a HandGun permit is almost not worth it, most guys i know got their permit after 6 months. Next place i move needs to be a gun friendly state.
As a right under the constitution (and really more fundamental than that), the right to self defense should be unleashed at the federal level, and allow for concealed carry throughout the states. As noted by others, such restrictive laws only act to prohibit law-abiding citizens from defending themselves - none of those laws will stop hardened criminals from engaging in their illicit activities.
Excess, here in NJ it is even harder than that. my boss who owns and open a store every AM with a bunch of cash, was a cop in essex cty,worked with the FBI, has two precedent setting cases against drug dealers,decorated, in the 300 club (not sure of the number), was in the national guard went to the number one gun lawyer in the state and was told sorry, but it aint gonna happen in NJ.

Thats crazy. What more references does he need? I honestly haven't had the time to fill out all the info that i need to get my permit. I just dont have the time. I need like 2 letters from friends stating that i am sane, i have to go to the county police to get finger printed, fill this out, fill that out, do this, do that And most likely still have to wait over a year to get my permit. I doubt that i am going to still be in NY in a year so im just going to wait it out and get my AR15(.223 and a 45ACP upper). Im in FL on a business trip and i am kinda liking it down here.
