Ok, so I leave class early to get my shit taken care of...my registration renewed and the ticket dismissed I got about 2 weeks ago. Well, I spent about an hour at the tax assesors office and then proceeded to the courthouse. I go ahead and put some money in the meter which gave me about 10-15 minutes or so, I was in the courthouse for about 20 minutes max and I come outside and GONE, my car was towed, I was like WTF......so I finally find it and say to myself fuck it I am not getting a cab and walk like 3-4 miles to my friends house so I can wait until he got out of class. He gladly took me to get my car and it cost me $132.85! I was like are you fucking serious, FUCK?! And cash only might I add, so we leave again to find an ATM and to my suprise someone left $40.00 in the ATM tray....yes $40.00 which is nice but it doesn't erase the fact that I already had spent about $250.00 today on bullshit registration and ticket dismissal fees. What a fucking day, my luck is never good and I never get a break, seems like when I save some money its all gone within a matter of hours. I did however give $20.00 of the money that I found to my friend to make it worth his while. Fucking shitty day guys all around with my luck and the loss of PMum, I am just ready to pass out and never wake up. :bawling:
They cannot hold your vehicle ransom, unless your state allows it. I wouldn't park there next time. That is a lot of beer money to lose though, I feel your pain man!!!
Hey, at least you found $40 in the ATM tray!!! That's never happened to me! When did they stop towing for an expired parking meter? I thought it was a shitty little ticket!
That sux!!! I feel your pain. Same thing happend to me and a friend of mine in Austin. It was in downtown. Right next to the hotel we were staying at, we parked under the I-35 bridge, there was a parking lot there. What we didnt know was that for some reason you could not be parked there from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m.!! and the freakin sign was about the size of a piece of paper!!! The next morning we woke up to leave, and when i didnt see the car my first thought was, "oh crap , someone stole the car!" But it turned out it was just towed. After a cab ride and 115.00 bucks later we got the car. Not to mention about 8 or 9 other people were at the towing company for the same reason.
