I was gonna post, but essentially that'd repeat MP's last 2 posts. No it's not racist IMO, but it's leading.
SB: when it's a gray area, it's ok not to have an opinion right away. It's wiser that jumping to conclusions. I've seen you make a fool of yourself doing just that.
This coming from the biggest fool on our little forum...Don't lecture me dumbass...If I want your opinion...I'll ask...don't hold your breath.
No,No,No, Please Hold Your Breath, Until Till He Asks You

Going bleeding heart Liberal - when are there going to be Affirmative Action to get more white football players in the NFL and more black owners?
Rush resigned from ESPN - why I don't know - I thought he was just telling the truth as he sees it. I guess Free Speech is OK in the U.S. as long as you don't open your mouth.
I always thought McNabb was a good quarterback and not a great quarterback, but what the heck do I know? I'm a Brett Favre fan myself and sometimes he stinks, but most of the time he is truly great.
of course his comments were not racist. anyone with a brain reading his comments would understand that. the reason he used the term black quarterback was because it was the very basis of his opinion. ie he couldnt have said the media is hyping quarterbacks. his very point was that the media is hyping black quarterbacks. he didnt say if you are a black quarterback then you suck. he said the media is hyping black quarterbacks and mcnabb undeservedly benefitted from that hype. make no mistake about it, he was saying that mcnabb wasnt as good as he was being hyped to be. he wasnt saying he wasnt as good because he was black. he smartly was pointing out that mcnabb is a pretty average quarterback who has been overhyped due to his color. hmmmm you know i seem to remember black basketball players saying the same thing about larry bird. was that racist? remember guys they arent saying they suck because theyre white or black....just that they receive more positive media attention due to their color of skin.
and fwiw, i agree completely. i have always thought mcnabb was overrated.
First thing is watch the tape first and not just the 6 second clip. If taken in context it is not as shameful as the press is making it out as. I am not stating that his comments is or is not racist. What I am saying is seeing the words in the press vs watching the program are two different things.
If you get the chance, look to see who else is on the panel that night.
now that ive read the entire thread it looks like you beat me to the punch on the Bird analogy.
i dont think Rush resigned voluntarily. If you saw ESPN's acceptance of his resignation you would know that this was forced and probably lead to ESPN buying Rush's contract out. So he probably pocketed a couple of million, doesnt have to do the damn show anymore, got unbelieveable media exposure and now he has made himself relevant again, so his ratings shoot through the roof! looks like the media just got played!
Just because your city's got Terry Tate and the Bucs Don't mean Squat! Jews? How'd they figure into the equation?? Your surrounded by them! and in large Lincoln Town Cars to BOOT! Seriously, I don't like Rush Limbaugh at all. However, that being said, I don't feel his remarks were racist. If the defense carried his team then regardless of what I think of the F**kStick doesn't have anything to do with what he opined. So he voluntarily stepped down. SO what? He's got a lot to fall back on. Prior to these remarks I didn't even watch his show. The Best Damn Sports Show Period is the show for me! Color don't mean SHIT when we all bleed red. 'cept for some of you Trekkies out there. I gotta start readin' these posts all the way through before I shoot my mouth off next time.
I don't think it was racist - but it was about race... he just stated an opinion and that had nothing to do with what he thinks about a race - just that he was calling them on hyping someone up when they were not good enough to justify it.
What about Aaron Brooks for the Saints? The guy gets talked up like he's a great QB - but everytime I've seen him he looks like a bumbling baffoon, he throws hard but not accurately, and no one can catch his wild throws.... Payton made him look like a complete idiot the other day. The Saints look to me to be a team that could go really well if they had a QB who could consistently throw ball to a team members hands. Is Brooks also over rated because he is black?
BTW - I am not racist - in fact I think the American Blacks are the absolute best built athletes in the world - they are a bloody awesome race physically - but they should be on a level playing field. Reverse racism is no better than the disgusting racism of the past.... and the fact that spirit still lives on in some places of the south (where my wife comes from) makes me sick. I'd rather have a black brother than a redneck white racist for one anyday. We should be judged on character not color.

According to dictionary.com the above statement makes you a racist.
"The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. "

There is no such thing as "reverse" racism. It's all racism. And blacks are absolutely as much racist as whites.
FAVRE! Yeah right...that's why they are 2-2...Favre is the worst QB in the league...
You dare dis my boy Favre? I guess I can understand that since I take it you are a Vikings fan. WAR ON VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being a Green Bay fan since the day I was born, I think Favre kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!
What really surprised me was how Donovan jumped on the bandwagon so fast. I've seen the clip 3 times now and it is clear that no racism was involved. So what, a guy slams McNabb's season, and all the sudden he is back in high school fighting the mobs of racists? C'mon Donovan, face the facts. I for one happen to agree with Rush about the press hyping black QB's, but so what? They hype white athletes in much the same way when a white athlete succeeds in a sport not usually dominated by whites. I think it's great that there are some good black QB's in the NFL. It only serves to make the game more entertaining when a guy like Mike Vick takes the field. Society needs to lighten up a bit, or we are in for some really hard times.
BTW, why didn't the two black guys sitting on the set with Rush (Irvin and Jackson) make a fuss about this when he said it? Because they understood what he was saying to be true, and in no way racially motivated.
IF you read the comment verbatim it was not racist. The NFL is in the clutches of PC and it's true they want to tout the accomplishments of a "black" quarterback. If you read his stats and history you will see the guy just plain SUCKS as a QB.
Plus Rush is the BIGGEST conservative out there and thusly it makes him a target for the liberal left.

LOL: trust you to get all technical
So I guess white people just don't try hard enough in sprinting and that the Kenyans are just better at long distance running because they eat less and run bare foot on sand so hot they can't stay still? Races do have physical characteristics - that is a fact - it doesn't make them superior or inferior as people - just more likely to succeed in certain things than the average 260lb white guy who'd work up a sweat getting the mail.
