The perception was also that black QB's in the NFL had trouble throwing timing routes. The media has never had anything bad to say about the athleticism of the black QB it was always the mental of the black QB.

Wow, this description just described Aaron Brooks to the "T" Great arm, great athleticism, but throws into triple coverage all day long, cant read a blitz, cant sell the play-action, tries to force the ball to Joe Horn and inevitably gets picked, NEVER throws the screen to Deuce even though he is standing on the outside without a defender in sight, doesnt pick up outside blitzes for shit, never calls the right audibles, and SUCKS in the red zone. Oh yeah, and he smiles after he throws an interception. I am a Saints fan by the way.
Now if you want the total opposite of Aaron Brooks, watch Michael Vick. The guy is amazing in every aspect of the quarterback position. He is so deadly because he knows when to run and when to get tha ball to his receivers. He also can read a defense like no other QB.
