I went to the "official unveiling" of the new SRT Ram. It's a pretty cool ride! It's cool to see the SRT engine tucked down in the engine bay with Viper written on the valve covers. It's got huge 22" wheels that look just like the wheels on the SRT, and seats similar to the SRT. I wouldn't mind having one!

That remains to be seen....The new lightning is gonna be 500hp but with some new fangled use of the A/C blowing cold air directly into the intake it will make bout 550hp for short bursts....So potentially it will be faster than the SRT Ram....But it looks that way on paper, gotta wait for the real world tests..The A/C thing sound like it might actually work. But with the parasitic losses with the A/C being on, I think it might offset the gains a bit..The lightning looks mean...But next to the Srt Ram it looks tame by comparison...Looks like the horsepower wars arent reserved to just cars...Whats the weight on the SRT Ram anyway???

OTOH, I ***DO*** understand that vehicle in your avatar and I would dig having one! I once saw an engine nacelle and part of a wing of one under a loose tarp on the back of a 45' float trailer going down the highway near here. It was shortly after they decommissioned them for a short period of time in favor of satellite imagery. Then, they figured out that the SR-71 still offered some very unique capabilities and recommissioned them.
Probably just shy of Mach 4. They say that skin friction heat caused the airframes to retemper on decent from every flight, and that each plane had peculiar handling traits in it's own right because of it.

ahh yes but the durango R/t was equipped with a tow package. The Dakota R/T's didn't and dodge caught a lot of shit over it. It woul dbe bitchin to see your r/t in tow behind a SRT-ram. I love that thing!
