Ok, enough is enough, Pic HotLink Script anyone?

Ok, so the idea originally came to me when the morgue stopped letting their pics be displayed from here. But its fairly trivial to write a script that can redirect a pic from another site, letting it be displayed no matter what the other website does to try and prevent it.

The script can take one or two options, the URL to the pic to redirect and an optional http referer value. The referer is how sites prevent hotlinking. This wouldn't add any real computational load to our server but it would up the bandwidth usage, so it'd be packet's call.

I say we all change our sig's to load a shrunken version of a ship on the high seas and really show them what some bandwidth is! hahahahahhaha

Oh, is this the "truth" thread? Because I was the guy who did that. When all those pics on DotCom were being hosted off the MOrg I thought it was funny to serve up a VCA logo.

No, it was no particular thread but I don't really remember. I just remember people trying to link to pics that they want to post to both boards. People end up uploading them here and there - its stupid.

I could have stuck it in the footer as a 1x1 pixel, but that would be rude.
