I was outside the other day messing with the car and my neighbor drove over. He is a retired fed. marshall that has been breeding/training horses for over 30 years. His children and grandchildren are World Champions in roping. off of horses he trained. Cb(my fiance) grew up around horses and competed on the national level, but I am still pretty ignorant when it comes to them.
So anyway, Merle drove up and said "I'll trade ya a horse for that car."
I said "You must not know how much these cars are worth."
He laughed and said "You obviously don't know how much my horses are worth."
He went on to tell me that he sells a couple of thorougbreds a year and they can sell for as much as 125K depending on their lineage and what he trains them for. :bonk:
I promptly threw him my keys and went and picked out a mare, that was bred.
I knew people made a living with horses and rodeo, but I did not know they could make that good of a living. He said his horses normally turn a profit in a couple of years which covers the initial investment. And considering a horse can compete for quite sometime, that's not to bad a deal.
Anyway CB has talked me into buying a couple of paints over the last month or 2. They actually are fun to mess with and who knows this horse thing might prove to be a nice little side hobby.
Here's Mick and Oakey doing what they do best.
