Asking Price: 4 million USD
inspection Rio de Janeiro
IS that for real? Four million seems like it would be cheap!
That represents a scraping price(assumption). The ship is no longer sevicable and will probably be sent to the ship breaking yards in India. Other ships, even aircraft carriers(although striped of everything) have sold for under 1 million for scraping purposes.
I'd want the fucker loaded down with guns so I could swing over and wage war on France if I got a wild hair! We could make it a time share! Runnr, are you in?
it is the "Minas Gerais" (Brazil)
It is the ex royal navy(british) H.M.S. Vengeance. built in 1945.
a lot of odd little countries (argentina, india, Brazil, spain..ect)
have naval fleets that consist of ww2 era british and american ships. They are very cost prohibitive. The carriers are all but worn out.
Now days only the russians, french, british and italians (maybe India) have opperational carriers(smaller ones) only the U.S. opperates "super carriers"
Somebody will argue that the french "Clemeceau" is a super carrier but I will argue that point.
I'm with Carrot on this one. I say we all kick in a few bucks, load her up with a couple hundred Texas rednecks, then head over to france and make it the 51st state.
I thought Minas Gerais came to Brazilian ownership after the Argentinians purchased her first.
It was supposedly and embarrasement to the brits that they trained the argentinians, equipped them with a carrier just to see the argentinians occupy the Falkland islands...
I think i read somewhere that that class of carrier gets two inches per gallon of oil....
Think I will buy it and have a floating hotel fully equipped with an airport. Market it to the rich an famous and I am an instant celeberty host. Think of all the free pussy.
If it passed the marine survey, retool her for a floating brothel/casino, customersfly in, and you steam 300 miles off shore. If it will carry 1000 sailors, imagine the benefits?
I think we are on to something here. The floating poon palace. Weekend get away complete with ON deck jacuzzi. Everyone bust out the cutting torch and pop in a few jacuzzi's along side the runway. Gut some walls and make half the Bridge the Presidential Suite. :thumb:

The "Minas Gerais" was not the ship in question. That was the Argentinian ship "Veinticinco de Mayo" Which was a British Colossus class carrier. It was instramental in the falklands invasion but when the Harriers from the British "Invincible" class showed up she retreted to safety. Oddly enough after the war she was equiped with French aircraft.
Of course it has to be full service ship, cater to male and female clients. As far as making the pools to be accessable to all on the days, and allow segregation at night, so as to allow customer some privacy for their 'affairs of the heart'
